Take a look at the Eshop, indies are outselling major titles like Skyrim and Doom with ease. Rocket League and Stardew Valley are constantly in the top 5.

I've heard quite a few people say they bought a Switch to enjoy all these indies on a portable machine.

One indie might not sell a console, but hundreds of good indie games will most certainly.

Take a look at Fe, it looks promising:

Nobody (or no significant amount of people) are gonna run out and buy a $300 USD system to play indies, especially not when they can play those same games on every other major platform. For instance, decent indie support didn't exactly help the Vita or the Wii U.

Systems are moved by big-name killer apps, games like Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros, or Monster Hunter in Japan. So far though, there aren't any killer apps confirmed for Switch in 2018.

In fairness, Zelda was the only game we knew was coming to Switch before the January event last year. I'd wait until after this year's Direct/Digital Event thingy before playing up the lack of high-profile content for Switch's 2018.

That's because those consoles didn't have decent indie support.

A lot of indies run below par on the Vita as well.

You said Switch's 2018 so far is comparable to Wii U's 2013. Trust me, it's not. Wii U's indie support was pretty bad and it missed out on a lot of good games.

Yeah but at the end of the day, indies aren't that important in terms of hardware momentum. They're a side dish, not the main course.

New Map, Shellendorf Institute, being added to Splatoon 2 tomorrow

Yay more maps! It would have been awesome if they introduce hazards such as that dinosaur moving or dropping down

So I'm a couple hours into Breath of the Wild.

Does the combat get better? Seems like I'm just mashing the attack button over and over.

Game is gorgeous. Even when not docked, it looks and plays great. What I really love so far is there is actual, real platforming in the game. You need to plan your climbing or you will fall and die.

Enemies get smarter and more agressive,  dodging gets more important.  And enemies get tougher, making tactics more important.

Mashing attack will not get you far against any foe stronger than a low level minion. Facing tougher baddies, especially in mobs, requires a lot more finesse.

For those that missed it, here's today's Nintendo Direct mini!

Anyone know the Australian time for the next Splatfest?
