Take a look at the Eshop, indies are outselling major titles like Skyrim and Doom with ease. Rocket League and Stardew Valley are constantly in the top 5.

I've heard quite a few people say they bought a Switch to enjoy all these indies on a portable machine.

One indie might not sell a console, but hundreds of good indie games will most certainly.

Take a look at Fe, it looks promising:

Nobody (or no significant amount of people) are gonna run out and buy a $300 USD system to play indies, especially not when they can play those same games on every other major platform. For instance, decent indie support didn't exactly help the Vita or the Wii U.

Systems are moved by big-name killer apps, games like Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros, or Monster Hunter in Japan. So far though, there aren't any killer apps confirmed for Switch in 2018.

In fairness, Zelda was the only game we knew was coming to Switch before the January event last year. I'd wait until after this year's Direct/Digital Event thingy before playing up the lack of high-profile content for Switch's 2018.
