They got the answer they deserve for their effort

I wonder if the consoles that Ninty flew in for March was stock initially intended for May?

Exactly. It'd be crazy if someone try to say that Nintendo owners don't buy third party games, because of SFII. A 40€ port of a very old game, which almost nothing new to bring to the table.
About the results, it's clear that the Switch is supply restrained. So unless they have planned to increase the stock with the Splatoon launch dramatically, I think PS4 can take June too.

Wouldnt it be the opposite than? Especially when there is Still ssb/pokemon/ac/etc left?
Really thought Switch was gonna win this one, and in june the PS4 should have another good shot at getting number 1 on NPD due to the Gold PS4.

He isnt lying though
PS4 is actually #1 over Switch? If so I can't say I'm super surprised. I was personally expecting Switch to have at least one or two more months, but it is what it is. I expect PS4 to take June as well, with Jumly possibly going to Switch. Come September though, it's definitely gonna be straight PS4 through the holidays, no contest.

REDACTED
This has been quite the development. It's impressive they've managed to get the top spot, even if it's from shortages. Would be interesting to see if this trend continues for the next few months.

Well, we didn't hear anything about SSB at E3, so I don't expect it to come this year. Pokken isn't going to push much hardware, and the big Pokémon RPG for this year is still 3DS. AC is going to sell the most on software, and push more hardware, on PS4. I don't foresee any third party title on Switch selling more copies than their PS4/ Xbone counterparts.
