Anyone know if you can play 5 players with 2 switches? For example:

- (NS 1) 4 Players + (NS 2) 1 player
Or
- (NS 1) 3 Players + (NS 2) 2 Players

I got Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with free Switch MK8 Deluxe puzzle cube this morning launch day at Target where I work. Total was $55.32 after my employee and Red card discounts.

I had original Wii U MK8 before I sold it. I forgot how much fun it is and how amazing the graphics still Are! My new cat was mesmerized by the fast 3D driving on the winding tracks! Best Mario Kart so far. I like instant load cartridge format and now I can have MK8 Deluxe on the go.

How can Mario Kart 9 be better on Switch?

In terms of needing space to download the game, it's just 6.8GB of the system storage, considering I have Zelda in the cart port and now this on the internal memory alongside Fast RMX I still have around 17GB free with a micro SD only inserted to get around the hard limit of 1000 screen shots to the system memory, (can have 10k on a sd card of any size, it's just a file number limit for the internal storage)

Also....

Wtf it's such a beautiful game :o I'm lost for words as to how great that looks, just playing it 720p/60 on handheld last night, but wow.

ok...cool, thanks!

No worries, and I'm not sure what it's like coming from the Cartridge but load times from the internal storage really are not worth talking about, the first stage loads up in a little bit over 10 seconds, then after each race into the next is around 5-7 seconds I would wager.

So greatful they went with Solid state memory rather than something like UMDs couldn't live with psp loading again.

Played about 4 series of races in Global, was shocked at how well it worked. 12 player races with no noticable lag or rubber banding seen on track.

Edit - Also wow at how many are online playing, that game is selling like hotcakes, fucking A+ win for Nintendo, basically digging software back out of the WiiU and slapping a switch logo on it, sell it as hot product, considering the little extra work to bring this from Wii-U to Switch I would think it is profit from Day 1 sales on the project as a whole.

Surprisingly the few races I played worked for me about the same as they do on Wii U. This is both good and bad, good because my aforementioned internet issue worries seem non-existent atm, but bad because there's no noticeable improvement over Wii U considering we'll be paying to play soon.

And yeah, I bet they could have sold the game for $30 and still made money off it, but they know we'd all buy it at $60. :L

That is a question Nintendo will surely answer!

Also your cat is not alone, I went into MKTV just to fully appreciate how clean the game looks now running at 1080p!

I'll be honest and say I didn't look at the price when I clicked purchase last night on the eshop, was just like GIVE ME NOWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Think the fun I had with it today multiplayer has paid the cost of entry tbh. playing with my Nephew 2 of us on the Switch vs the world. Great fun.

Be prepared for a considerably easier game if you haven't played since MKWii. Not sure if Nintendo changed some of the ease of MK8 for DX, but MK8 was definitely the breeziest and most boring Grand Prix I've ever played.

...unless he plays on 200cc. That mode just wrecked me.

I've yet to finish a GP and not end it first... but to be fair that just includes one at 200cc which I was still first... but didn't triple star, just been enjoying seeing all the GPs in 50cc mode so now I've got all of them triple stared, just jumped into a few random 100/150cc GPs and had no real issues triple staring them either, I have to say... it feels slightly strange that all of the GP's and categories were open from the start, I would have rathered a gating system to give me a reason to have played the 50cc cups... but I guess I got a ton of coins doing it and unlocked a load of the car bodies and such, weird seeing the mercedes stuff in a Mario Kart game.

258KM driven so far since launch. feeling as I move along there is going to be some GPs that'll give issues with 100%'ing it for a while, but yeah, such a wealth of content considering I hadn't touched the WiiU game I couldn't be happier with this launch as someone who is experiencing the whole package as a new game.

Really hope they start to salage other software from the WiiU now to fill in the gaps in the upcoming months, or ya know... virtual console would rock, even just a sniff of news about it for classics from the megadrive again.

Considering starting a petitiion to port Mario 3d World... but I think if Nintendo have any love of money they'll be doing that in the next few months or at least years.

Edit - Second GP in a row now I've gotten "mario partied" on the last race of a GP basically chain red shelled from first in the last race to cost any stars on the thing, forgot how much of a waste of time feeling that was with MK games, hasn't changed in MK8D sadly. Should be some form of AI limit that they wont chain attacks for the entire field of racers as they pass you. (was going to put imo, but that's not an opinion, there just should be)

Amazon is telling me the delivery date is now Wednesday. I am not amused. Might cancel and hit up GameStop today.

Eshop delievery is about 30mins depending on your internet speed :D delivered right to the console, can't beat that imo :D

be real... will you ever want to trade in MK8D?

I now own two physical Switch games and I'm already regretting getting MK8 physical media. I passed on playing BreathOfTheWild in favor of youtube videos earlier because I would have to get up and swap out the cartridge, but I know I'm gonna want to play MK8 later. First world problems I guess.

Yeah I learned this from the Vita days, I have a ton of games on the Vita, as in card format, but the cards for that system are really thin and feel very fragile so I ended up actually rebuying a lot of them from psn and buying a 64GB card (over €100) just to have the convience of having the games on the machine without messing about.

Switch I feel is going to be very much a digital system for me for the most part unless I encounter really cheap copies of games like Bomberman used or so, otherwise will just be eshopping it up, I've been won over by the ease of access to digital games, on a portable anyways.

This is from a person who has over 200 GC games and around the same X360 Physical copies too. Love me a boxed copy, but also love being lazy :D
