Played about 4 series of races in Global, was shocked at how well it worked. 12 player races with no noticable lag or rubber banding seen on track.

Edit - Also wow at how many are online playing, that game is selling like hotcakes, fucking A+ win for Nintendo, basically digging software back out of the WiiU and slapping a switch logo on it, sell it as hot product, considering the little extra work to bring this from Wii-U to Switch I would think it is profit from Day 1 sales on the project as a whole.

Surprisingly the few races I played worked for me about the same as they do on Wii U. This is both good and bad, good because my aforementioned internet issue worries seem non-existent atm, but bad because there's no noticeable improvement over Wii U considering we'll be paying to play soon.

And yeah, I bet they could have sold the game for $30 and still made money off it, but they know we'd all buy it at $60. :L

I got Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with free Switch MK8 Deluxe puzzle cube this morning launch day at Target where I work. Total was $55.32 after my employee and Red card discounts.

I had original Wii U MK8 before I sold it. I forgot how much fun it is and how amazing the graphics still Are! My new cat was mesmerized by the fast 3D driving on the winding tracks! Best Mario Kart so far. I like instant load cartridge format and now I can have MK8 Deluxe on the go.

How can Mario Kart 9 be better on Switch?

That is a question Nintendo will surely answer!

Also your cat is not alone, I went into MKTV just to fully appreciate how clean the game looks now running at 1080p!
