Gee, I wonder how many women with any self-respect would love to do an internship at the white house in the next 4 years...

I dunno, I hear Monica Lewinsky could use a job these days... she really "blew" her last one.

Trump dragged the level needed to become president down so low that even the pussy grabbing comment couldn't sink him, there's no person in American history who'd win the presidency with that on tape for the world to hear.

What I do have a problem with is the FBI director playing favorites and injecting himself into the election like a week before, gifting Trump the news cycle for a week. That's not the role of the FBI or any federal agency to do that. And that may well have cost Clinton the election, Nate Silver has shown that a substantial part of the vote only made up their mind the week before the election and Clinton only lost in Pennslyvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin by 80,000 votes or so ... a tiny amount that easily could've been swayed by that.

It's especially disingenious because they announced just the day before the election that basically they found nothing new. It's fairly transparent what the motive for doing that was.

That I do have a problem with.

Trump is unique, he was able to do things most candidates would never say or bounce back from. This is probably because Trump is a candidate we viewed as a human being so we accept he isnt perfect but more important he's discussing issues in a way people like.

Hillary is unique as well. She was not trusted by many of her own supporters, she couldnt get the same crowds as Trump in many states. She has a lot of baggage, shes deemed corrupt, and not releasing those emails bit her in the ass to the very end. No other democrat could be perceived as corrupt as her and still represent the party in an election. She had support simply for being the wife of Bill Clinton.

I think the green party and libertarians did better than usual simply because many voters didnt like either Trump or Hillary. The green party is essentially democrats and stole just enough votes to take swing states from Hillary.

Wait so you're telling me we view a guy who looks like a cheeto with a ferret on top as a human? He did nothing but stir the pot of white anger and rode it to the white house. All it showed me is that this country is as backwards as everyone of color said it is.

Obama, just have the CIA kill Trump, the US is corrupt and broken anyway. No one would cry if he was assassinated

the problem with that is the next in line to be president is Mike Pence (arguably worse than Trump) and after that afaik Paul Ryan (arguably even worse than Pence) and after that it's afaik up to the rep house and senate, which could result in an improvement over Trump

Trump is unique because he has a "show business" personality that is kind of already synonmous with a kinda tacky/cheesy aura. So when he says tasteless, crude, etc. things, he's able to spin out of it.

However stuff like that has a tendancy to eventually come and bite one in the ass.

I don't feel like he won that election more than Hilary lost it. She didn't campaign hard enough in the midwest and had no clear messaging. Also she allowed the Clinton name to be crapped on constantly, but never pushed back by reminding people Bill Clinton is the last president under which America had great economic prosperity and created more jobs than any modern president in history (even from 92-96 before the internet boom was a big thing, he created a ton of jobs).

She didn't talk about the economy enough period.

He didnt just appeal to angry white people. You cant win an election like that in a diverse country like this and it goes back to my point how you left wingers always make it a racial issue while ignoring issues Trump discussed.

Hillary appealed to angry people of other colors but I guess that isnt the same. Only white people can be bad.

I'm hispanic by the way.

I agree with your assessment of Trump. People already knew he had a crude personality prior to the election. I loved his appearances on Howard Stern years ago.

I didnt bother watching debate 2 and 3 because it was evident Hillary's more focused on attacking Trump personally with racism and sexism. So naturally Trump had to push the narrative shes dishonest which many believe.

Bill Clinton seemed to hurt and help her. He's considered a great president so people want her for that. But she also pushed the narrative Trump is a sexual deviant, kinda like Bill was accused of. People are genuinely turned off to thought of Bill and Hillary being an actual loving couple. So maybe she was reluctant to take advantage of Bill.

We should all be able to agree she did not focus on the economy enough and she pandered to Benrnie supporters.

I can't believe Obama was at one point deemed "anti-establishment". Fucking Christ.

When did anyone every say that about Obama? Even from the start he was never anti-establishment.

Him and his wife both need to go.  8 years ago when Obama was riding high in the primaries and on the verge of securing the Democrat nomination for president, Michelle at a campaign rally stated that "for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country."

Fast forward 8 years later, she's been married to the most powerful man on the planet for 8 years, enjoyed lavish vacations and hosting countless parties and celebrities, and she's pretty much set for life after her husband's gig.  But what does she have to say now that the election results didn't go their way,and she'll no longer have access to all those taxpayer-paid vacations and White House parties and events???

"Now we're feelin' what not havin' hope feels like."  - Michelle Obama on Oprah, 2016

Don't let the door hit you on your big fat ass, Michelle!

What a lovely thing to say. Shows that you're clearly unbiased.

Also, there is nothing wrong with what she said. In one case, a man (Obama) who she thinks is brilliant and can help the country (which he did) was close to getting elected. The other time a man who treats women like garbage, who attacks people online on twitter and acts inappropriately all the time is elected. Why exactly would she have any hope with Trump as President?

This has nothing to do with her losing her position. Had Hilton won (in which case she'd still stop being first lady living in the white house), she wouldn't have said that simply because she thinks (and she's allowed to have an opinion) that Clinton is better than Trump.

She didn't really pander to Bernie supporters though, Bernie (like him or not) was all about the economy and how it impacts poor/middle class people.

She didn't really have much of an economic message, which always surprised me because she's the only one in the race who actually had a front row seat of seeing a president actually run a very successful economy day to day. Why her campaign didn't emphasize that more I have no idea.

The top 4 presidents in modern history for jobs are all Democrats ... Clinton, Carter, LBJ, and Kennedy (who obviously did not get a full term). I'd be willing to bet most people don't know this though, why Democrats don't focus on things like this is beyond me. Clinton got suckered into the "well you can't vote for someone as despicable as Trump" and didn't bother to play enough offence.

Trump has been bashing the hell out of the media. Obama does it people get mad. Seriously does anyone hear their own voice or are your ears just closed?
