Forums - Gaming Discussion - Capcom targeting 4m first day sales for Resident Evil 7

No problem! Just bundle it with some of those drugs you're taking and you should be all set!

Looking at the sales on the RE series, that may be a little hard for them to do, though RE7 is looking to be one great looking game. A nice return to that RE horror feel.

Capcom lol. How did you projections work for the crap that is DmC and SFV. RE7 looks decent for a game we see a bunch of on steam . I dunno I may eventually play it but it just doesn't seem a like a game 4 million people will flock to day 1. 6 mill lifetime maybe.

loll oh Capcom.

If they want their 4M sales in a day then just bring out the RE2 remake already. This isn't going to cut it.

This can only happen if Capcom handles the game properly.

Sad trombone.

I wish them luck.

What the fuck... 4M first day is nowhere near to reality... XD
1.5-2M is the maximum I can see the game selling first day.

Too many sales. They are overshooting this by a lot in my opinion. R5 and 6 got critically panned, and I don't know if they can muster enough hype for this amount of sales day one.

TThat is not entirely true, RE 6 had an Okish critical reception, lackluster for RE standards but not realy bad, but 5 was very well receved, it even won some GotYs.

I don't see it doing more than 1M realy. It needs realy high review scores otherwis eits gona sufer, the changes were too drastic a lot of ppl, new and old fans alike, are very sceptical.

Sure, if this were Call of Duty or Pokemon, and it was launching simultaneously worldwide.

But Resident Evil? It's not even remotely close to the popularity of those two. And the last entry didn't even reach 2 million on the first day on two systems with a combined install base well over 100 million.

I think you've been drinking a little too much of your own Kool-Aid, Capcom.
