Man, some of the answers are waaaay extreme. Here's the deal. Can I afford 2 consoles? Yea. Do I want 2 consoles taking space? No. Someone said it before. I want convenience and not having to switch. Also, I don't game 20/30 hours a week. I may hit 10 max if but really I would say 5 a week sounds right. I was a PS1 and 2 owner and loved it. Then switched to the 360. Back then I also got to own a bunch of games and consoles but I was in college. Now I just want to play the PS4 exclusives that look amazing (The Last of Us) and remakes lime FF7. I love a bunch of Xblx games too like Alan Wake ut PS4 is just the nosgalgia ox my younger years.

My entertainment is mostly Netflix and ESPN. I dont want to hook up another device hence why the ESPN app on the Xbox is making me hold the most. Yes, I want a PS4 but also want a Wii U and NX but thats not realistic. I just want to watch ESPN and play FF7 without having to pay for Vue

Since you don't want to own both consoles you're going to have to let something go. Keep the Xbox One and miss out on PS4 exclusives or get a PS4 and cut ties with the ESPN app. It's all about which you prioritize the most.

Hmmm...that is a pretty interesting dilema.  I know you said you want as few devices as possible, which I totally understand. But I think a PS4 and something like a Chromecast or Roku Streaming Stick might be your best solution. I know that would mean adding another device, but they're small and can be powered right off your tv's usb port if it has one. They're also pretty cheap since neither of them would cost you more than $40 and you can usually find them for less.

If not, I don't know if there's really another option to getting a PS4 and ESPN without needing another device.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

If your problem is space than what about keeping one of them in the closet while you use the other one and vice versa?

A gaming PC for $350? Maybe, but you're looking at a fairly low end build whose exclusives really demand a keyboard/mouse (which don't really work well on a couch).

And a gaming laptop for $350? Now you're being ridiculous.

A $350 PC will be on par to a PS4 and X1. Also you gain access to alot more exclusive games plus X1 games. With a choice with any controller you prefer since X1 and PS4 and 360 controllers all work with PCs now.

What a console does a PC will do better and more. Since he already owns an X1 theres no point in changing since both consoles are similar. I recommand wait for the next phaze of consoles or go the PC/Laptop route.

Nope, you'd need to spend $400 to match a PS4. And PC exclusives are almost invariably designed with a keyboard/mouse in mind, so the only games you'll be playing with a controller are the ones you can play on console (unless you like badly optimized controls that have been adapted from KB/M via a third party program).

There are 187 games confirmed for PS4 that are unavailable on PC. That 187 things that PC can't do.

And you're arguing against similar platforms, and also saying he should have a PC and XB1? Sorry, but your bias is showing. If you own a PC, there is literally no reason to also own an XB1 anymore, or have you not been paying attention for the past two months? And I mean paying attention to facts, not just things that you find agreeable.

All that aside, I'm sure if he wanted a PC, he'd have one by now. He clearly wants a console, and he's clearly unimpressed by XB1 enough to want to try PS4.

The push and pull Dynamic between two vocal minorities here is somewhat amusing.

Group A "We love you, join us"
Group B "Why not both? They're basically the same anyway"

I think it's funny that one group tries so hard to prove its different, while the next group tries so hard to prove they're the same.

Anyway, OP, does ESPN require a subscription? If yes, switch to the Ps4, bring your Netflix account over, and sign up for Vue to get that sports fix. Drop the ESPN account and you should be getting everything you need.

If the ESPN app is free and it really is holding you back, stick with your Xbox until the decision comes easier.

That makes sense.

suggest you wait for either PS4 Neo or cheaper PS4 when Neo launching this holiday or early 2017

He doesn't want both.  He's not got the time he used to have.  Ps4 all the way.

Mmmhmmm...

I'm still saying have both. Both all the way.

Well I do have the pc + ps4 combo which is way better than ps4 + x1 since pc is getting all the xbox exclusives.

Anyway read his reply above.  It's pretty obvious the ps4 is the best choice for him.

No, if you recommend both its because youre considering what they do different.

Group B is suggesting have both and therefore have more options.
