Man, some of the answers are waaaay extreme. Here's the deal. Can I afford 2 consoles? Yea. Do I want 2 consoles taking space? No. Someone said it before. I want convenience and not having to switch. Also, I don't game 20/30 hours a week. I may hit 10 max if but really I would say 5 a week sounds right. I was a PS1 and 2 owner and loved it. Then switched to the 360. Back then I also got to own a bunch of games and consoles but I was in college. Now I just want to play the PS4 exclusives that look amazing (The Last of Us) and remakes lime FF7. I love a bunch of Xblx games too like Alan Wake ut PS4 is just the nosgalgia ox my younger years.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

My suggestion is have both. Both have notable exclusives, both have many more coming. I assume he's a pretty avid gamer.

He doesn't want both.  He's not got the time he used to have.  Ps4 all the way.

Mmmhmmm...

I'm still saying have both. Both all the way.

I probably play about 10 hours a week, more if I'm really into a game, some weeks less. At that rate, you could still play through 30 - 40 games a year.

Do you tend to spend many hours with a few games? Do you instead play a lot of different games like myself? We don't know that based on your OP.

Having multiple consoles isn't extreme and nobody is telling you to play a massive amount of hours a week. I think you have a misconception about people that own multiple consoles. I don't touch some of my consoles for months at a time, but they still work fine when I'm in the mood to play something on them.

Frankly, if you just aren't interested in anything coming to Xbox, then switch. But having multiple consoles doesn't turn you into some sort of hermit. Its just more games to potentially play, albeit with a little more space on your shelf taken.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

There were three ravens sat on a tree / They were as blacke as they might be / The one of them said to his mate, Where shall we our breakfast take?

I wouldnt consider the WiiU if I were you, I made that mistake lol now I have a console that just sits there collecting dust.

And as for the PS4 the only App I use is AnimeLab xD

The PS4 does not have anything like the ESPN app nor the amount of support for its apps that the Xbox gives for sports and fantasy sports.

Idk why you would not just get both.  Just use em' as you please.  The PS4 is quite small and has now power brick.   Does not take up a whole lot of space.

I made the jump and I dont regret it one bit. Love my PS4's

Actually the PS4 does have sports apps like the MLB app and WWE (fantasy sports if you will).  Xbox does have ESPN though. It might not make sense for him to switch if he likes ESPN. However, if he's paying for Sling TV, then he should definitely get the PS4 for the Vue. Vue is definitely superior to SlingTV. I have the Vue and HAD Sling TV.

I have both consoles...well all 3 consoles. Too bad he can't own all of them. I understand though. I definitely agree with owning them all.
