For those who don't know this:

I only knew the cartoon, but never imagined it was also based on this liveaction series.

Man, now that's a series that should be rebooted.

73 on rotten tomatoes and 60 on meta.

That's good by movie ratings standard.

All I see is a bunch of losers who can't let go. Any idea how it's doing on box-office and world-wide? I'd love to get a few more chuckles out of this.

It is doing mediocre to passable levels, apparantly like the movie itself. However if this was the start of a franchise, consider this deader than Zack Synder's vision of DCU. (Meaning it will be really hard to milk this)

For the first time China cannot save a movie from being overly grossed like Transformers.

I've already admitted I'd spoken too soon. You can keep your MRA rage under control.

Lol, is MRA supposed to be an insult?  From you, I'll take it as a badge of honor.

First of all, yes, it is.

Second of all, you don't know me! Why do I get this special privilege from you? Like... from anyone else, it would be an insult, but from little old me, it's different! Weird...

ComicbookGirl19 sums up my thoughts pretty well of how ridiculous this whole scenario has become.

Well the live action show actually wasn't very successful since it only lasted 15 episodes and the animated version had 65 episodes and only came about since they where trying to cash in on the success of the first Ghostbusters movie.  Anyway the company that produced both versions Filmation went out of business in 1989.

Both the domestic and overseas totals for it got adjusted down I'm guessing this will be in discount theaters pretty fast.

It's dropping like a rock it lost over 60% of its box office on Monday. Realistically it could even end up behind Lights Out this upcoming weekend which would put it in fifth place because Star Trek, Ice Age, and The Secret Life of Pets are pretty much guaranteed to finish ahead of it this weekend.

Deadline admits that antagonizing fans of a franchise was a mistake by Sony:

Glad the film bombed.

That NEVER works. It's just arrogance. Same thing with DmC and ninja theory. Antagonising fans just ensures that your product will not perform well.

I'm surprised it even comes as a surprise.

Glad the film bombed.

That quote at the end by the sony guy; “This is the biggest opening for a live-action comedy in over a year and we reached a wide audience that’s both new and nostalgic,”

Didn't Deadpool have 2.5X the opening that ghostbusters did, or is deadpool not a comedy flick. I know you find the movie to be questionable lawlight (Deadpool), but it totally has better comedic value than what I have seen of ghostbusters.

Let me guess, because Deadpool is super hero, it is "Action" and not comedy, because super hero films are one genre only.
