Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Star Fox Zero might be the end of the Star Fox series

Of course its not the end of it. People are so dramatic. It might be on hold for a while. Just like any franchise from Nintendo that's not top tier.

There's plenty of people who want Star Fox.
They just don't want weird motion controls in a game that needs precision and fast reflexes.

Nintendo would be dumb if they really think people don't care about Star Fox.

How about they make a real new Star Fox game instead of using the IP as an excuse to try out weird new control options?

Or even at least, just have the option of using traditional controls.

I guarantee that if they just had the option for traditional controls, a lot of people wouldn't have been so quick to dismiss it.

It won't be the end of the franchise. Nintendo has just to stop experimenting too much and actually release the game everyone wants.

Star Fox went from 64 to 0. Quite sad.

I hope it's not the case, though.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Wasn't Pikmin 3 and Donkey Kong on similar numbers 1 month after launch? I also doubt Nintendo are blind to the games criticism. Not saying we'll see another one any time soon but I certainly wouldn't right it off.

It seems like the type of franchise that Nintendo could actually give to an indie dev for small bit sized games every now and again. Nothing about seems to require a AAA team.

Who knows maybe they will still try another game and then call it quits for a few years, the poor sales aren't surprising, the controls aren't for everyone and a lot of people aren't fond of trying new things, plus its a game which isn't hyperrealistic with antropomorphic animals a lot of kids and adults i've meet think thats stupid and for babies, and some of my gamer friends think thats a thing for furries. I have played and liked most starfox games, granted they aren't all masterpieces but i think most are good games.

good cutting corners should not be rewarded.

Is it such a bad game? Might purchase it for my newly bought Wii U.

It is not the end of the franchise, I think that's bullshit, but It will take a looong time until nintendo makes a new one.

BTW, Zero might have been a dissapointing game, but is FAR from a bad game, the press was heavily affected by the negativity around this game and the demanding controls were the perfect excuse to bash it, but the game is not bad at all, is a pitty most people thinks is bad just because the media says so.
