Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If Nintendo joins the club of paid online multiplayer, how would you take it?

I don't mind if Nintendo do something like PS+, but I would bunr the world if we can only play multiplayer online if we pay for it.

PS+ isn't what it used to be. I think it would be better if they left out all the extra stuff and underprice the competition, something like $3 a month tops.

I wouldn't play online then. I already pay for PS+ and I will just play everything MP related there. No chance in hell I'll be paying for two services every month.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

I don't think would go well unless Nintendo makes an effort to get popular online titles on its platform. Sony and MS get away with it because they have so many popular online games.

I mean this is probably the reason why I don't have a PS4, so naturally I'd be pissed off beyond belief if Nintendo makes the same mistake especially since they have far less reason to and their online service quality is not up to par.

I'd be fine, but I still wouldn't pay it. I play single player games mostly on Wii U (besides Smash), and for Smash I'd just play local multiplayer.

If nintendo charges the online fee in form of amiboo it will be successful.

If Nintendo locks online features behind a paywall I'll do my online gaming on PC instead.

Hard to play Nintendo games on PC though.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

No.

Actually I wouldn't care what they do either way, because I don't care about online multiplayer and nothing would realistically change for me. We also don't have it for our PS4.

Nintendo would need to push for more online games, otherwise they could charge much less then competitors.

If they do hopefully it's like ps+ and you pay for online and the games of the month only. If downloading games, party chat, streaming and online on f2p games are still free I think that's better for the teansition.
