Forums - PC Discussion - Quantum Break on PC has serious issues

how's the vram usage?

For those of you that have been tooting the UWP horn, and raving about how easy porting games between X1 and Windows 10 has become as a result of this ultra-powerful set of development tools:

"This is a drum we cannot beat loud enough - the Universal Windows Platform architecture is a huge issue for the PC right now. There are problems with this game, such as frame-pacing, which could be fixed by users right now but that becomes impossible due to UWP’s limitations. In the case of Quantum Break, this means that we’re basically held hostage waiting for improvements from the developer or from Microsoft itself, as if this were a console game. In a perfect world, games would ship without any issues, but that just doesn’t always happen, which is why it’s so important for PC gamers to have the option to work around these problems with established tools and GPU control panel options. Also: bonus points to UWP for overwriting our Xbox One completed game save with fresh PC data instead, eliminating our existing progress completely."

1) Its a app, the menu system it has lacks a "quit" option.

You need to ctrl+alt+delete, and manually close the thing, or atl+tab & close the the window from the taskbar.

Not trying to defend this port, but it can be closed as any Windows 10 app. Just move the cursor to the upper right corner and the close button will appear.

I've played plenty of games on PC that have worked day 1, there are also times where a game just doesn't run perfect on a console as well, the other side to that is having a modding community on PC that can fix what devs sometimes overlook or choose not to fix, on a console you're at the complete mercy of the dev's decision to sort out and fix your game, if he doesn't then you're screwed entirely.

Actually, that's one of the gripes with the UWA platform. Currently, mods aren't possible because the app runs sandboxed. So, it's also made it unmodable, what you have is what you will got.

Frankly that's all you're ever going to get with an MS walled garden with such a tight system, hardly seen them openly support mods the way some devs and Valve have done for years, can't say MS care for anyone else to fix their games either, for other games not attached to Windows 10 and MS store, the modding community can aid you.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

AMD's latest driver update has support for Quantum Break, but I haven't heard if Nvidia has done the same. In any case, that's weird considering that previous MSoft games that launched on the Win Store performed better on Nvidia cards.

Heck, I still remember when Gears launched and AMD said that no one told them about it.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Because you have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to exit the game currently =P.

Also enjoyed it myself, though a bit bugged they call it Zootropolis in the UK for some reason.

That's very odd...the voice acting was the same as the U.S. version though, right? So...did they call it Zootopia in the actual film?

to stay offtopic, I have no idea why they changed the title. It's Zoomania here in Germany.
