I have no great love for extreme feminists. But a bunch of anonymous losers attacking women behind keyboards are worse. There isn't even an argument to be made about that. These "movement" has only ever proven that certain contingents of modern gamers are nothing but spoiled brats, and immature man-children, from the start. It's one thing to disagree about something. But it's something else entirely to, in some cases quite literally terrorize human beings and their lives, their livelihoods, even their loved ones......over ANYTHING. There is zero excuse to threaten or harass these women. None.

#GamerGate people are not "activists". They're idiots with absolutely nothing better to do in their lonely, rotten lives. Period.

Two things:

1) Pretty much everyone, on both sides of the debate, has received harassment, regardless of gender. While the cases of harassment against women are certainly more publicized, that does not mean that women are exclusively harassed.

2) Gamergate is not a monolith, its just a hashtag. Besides, from what I've seen the majority of people who are active in gamergate circles have opposed pretty much all actions taken against Ms. Rapp. That does not reduce the brunt of the harassment faced by Ms. Rapp, but it is worth noting. This harassment was not an action of the bogeyman gamergate, it was the actions of individuals.

Official info is that she was fired for moonlighting. Blaming Nintendo or not is entirely up to the individual, of course. It also appears many folks in this thread do not lend credence to the official line, seeing as how the majority of comments are ignoring it entirely.

It kinda feels like the article left some stuff out.....it's Kotaku, so why wouldn't they. I would like to know the specifics of this.
Sure, if she was fired for her views on Childporn & pedophilia, then I can understand why Nintendo did it. I don't think Nintendo would have wanted to have a childporn defending image to them.

She was fired for moonlighting, not her views on CP/Pedophilia.   Nintendo hasn't elaborated as to why her moonlighting conflicted w/ her job at Nintendo, so there's no real word beyond their official statement.

i wouldnt blame vgchartz really, the entire internet jumped the gun and immediately went for nintendo's throat,before looking at this womans actual passed and sick views she has
