Totally agree, I roll my eyes whenever I see the announcement of a new super hero movie. They are always super hyped and never very fun, and the "Female Love Interest" that Americans are obsessed with is always tacked on it basically every super hero movie lol

And the "superhero" himself always has the same predictable, overplayed emotional issues and all the character depth of a sheet of cardboard.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a super hero movie.

I watched it at the theatres and loved it.

I was so hyped I watched it again lateron, and went got the music from it, to listen to for along time.

Not all super hero movies are bad.

There was a lot of things to like about the movie, but it's dragged down significantly by an awfully written Lex Luthor, who is little more than a total nut job, and as such wastes the man vs "god" story set up in the first 3/4ths of the movie. Instead, that entire plotline of turning humanity against Superman is tossed aside for Luthor creating Doomsday, a monster that without Superman's intervention would kill not only him, but destroy the entire planet, with humanity having no hope of preventing it whatsoever. He has no end game by the conclusion of this movie. He isn't some eccentric genius, or even a brilliant madman (character deviations I would have been ok with), he's just a complete looney who would set the world on fire to kill Superman. Nevermind that this goes against the very core of the character that is supposed to be Lex Luthor, but again, it just completely undermines the conflict they build up throughout the rest of the movie.

The movie was good but there were too many things going on. They should have made this into a 2 part flick. They could have gotten rid off the plot holes and fast forwardness.

That Wonder Woman intro and BGM though. The people at the cinema I went to cheered on that part of the film.

Just like deadpool this movie will appeal to the lowest common denominator . Unlike deadpool,BvS its not very self aware. Critics/audiance don't like that, which is why an awful movie like deadpool is sitting in the imdb top 100.

I'll be seeing it in a few hours. Hopefully I enjoy it.

I'd rate it 6/10. It was an ok movie. First 3/4 of the time are boring. Good thing the last 1/4 was fantastic.

I feel that Lex Luthor was a miscast. Jesse Eisenberg's performance was great, but imo, he doesn't suit Lex's persona. Someone more intimidating would've been perfect.

Affleck, Caville and Gadot were all good to their respective roles.

Nolan's Batman trilogy is still the best DC movies to date.

I haven't seen it yet, but I absolutely love the Lec redesign. I feel Jesse is playing a more cerebral kind of villain, one that fits the modern archetype of what Lex would be, rather than a stiff suit. It's a great way to change the role to appeal to a wider, younger audience that might be tired of seeing big buff tropes and nothing else. Same reason I enjoyed MoS and its ending - they're playing with these characters in more engaging ways. Problem is the ones reviewing the films are often purists.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

I haven't watched it yet but it looks like a fun movie to me. I don't know much about the comic book plots and so forth, since I don't read them, so that should help me enjoy the movie for what it is. I'm not too much of a critic when it comes to movies and as long as I enjoy it, or it makes me cry, then it's a good movie to me.

Imho Jesse was fantastic. He wasn't really Lex,  he was more or less his own character. This may factored into disappointment for a lot of people. With that in mind, his performance from an acting perspective was debatably the best in the movie. He was crazy. For those who say he's "miscast", perhaps we should wait for the sequel. This was kind of... more or less an origins story for him.

I totally agree that Jess' performance is arguably the best in the movie.

But Lex Luthor is supposed to be a person who is charismatic and genius. The Lex in the movie is like a mad scientist or a lunatic. Maybe the change is for the better though, who knows.

Hopefully the pacing of the sequel will improve.

“Ore no... Kachi da!”

Should'nt be difficult to be better than SW7... hurhur! :p

Yeah, i had seen a great level of acceptance from the people that watched it. I just don't like two parters, but i will definitly watch it. I do hope its good. I am not a huge fan of DC comics, but i would like to see them keep up with marvel. More enjoyable movies is always good.
