Thank GOD... maybe now the whole "let's remake each and every Disney classic we can get our hands on" will end.

Was Disney even involved here? When they are it can result in pretty good stuff, example: Maleficent or the new Cinderella

Les Mis did fine.

What? Maleficent was garbage. I mean, turning the most villanious character in Disney films into basically a loving, caring, mother figure was just... no.

I didn't see Cinderella though. But even so, leave the classics alone! It's almost like no one can come up with something original anymore.

They should have got Hugh Jackman to play the role then. It would have done better. Why choose a son over a man?

I heard they went with Hugh because Jermaine and Tito weren't available.

Comment of the year right there!

Its the biggest domestic bomb of the year WB also owns the second biggest domestic bomb this year in Jupiter Ascending.

From what I read abou tit, Jupiter Ascending did well WW. Domestic sales aren't everything.

Peter Pan is beyond lame. Its just Robin WIlliams that saved the last one. Why on earth they thought a new version would be good is beyond me.

Nothing to do with Jackman, Prisoners was great. Movie just looked shite.

How many movies really do need a budget of 150m dollars? Even with the global numbers, this isn't going to recover their money.

It's the same logic with AAA and indie gaming. There seems to be no more room to have something in between budget film. It's either independant, or massive effects movie.

Its because americans spend way to much on special effects to carry a movie.

Just dont, the end.

=> profits.

Time to start makeing movies without everyone flying around, millions of explosions, ect.

Well, time to roll out the DLC and micro transactions. Failing movie studios have much to learn from the gaming industry on how to make real money.

The reviews are pretty awful. I'll stay away! To be honest, didn't even know it was out.

75% outside the US, which isn't rather uncommon nowadays. Either way, it still flopped hard.

OT - it is clear most actors don't sell movies anymore, or even make them better reviewed. Johny Depp, for instance, can't seem to sell anything outside Pirates of the Caribbean, so like Darrow he's often fairly overrated. Poor Leo Di Caprio on the other hand seem to indeed bring people to watch whatever he does, but still he hasn't won an academy award haha.
