Still find it amusing, that everyone blames Konami only. The FOB system itself is stupid, and that is made by the game's developer.

If im 100% honest, i dont see anything wrong with this, unless this is some kind of Pay 2 Win.

If there is someone willing to pay for this stupid shit, well good for them.

It is like developers charging for costumes. It is a harmless way to rip-off stupid people.

Perhaps developers could have had a better shoehorned multiplayer if they had mroe time.

I think project was way over budget enough, to add in more time would be sinking more money in. In a perfect world we would let all the developers make their dream project and it will be profitable, but this isn't a perfect world.

PS. A part of me is just sick of people blaming Konami and not Kojima Production.

The only hint on the finacials avaliable to the public is the creation of the fox engine itself. However, the creation of a new engine is typically an investment that goes far beyond a single game. (Unless Konami uses it for PES, it was a real waste of money)

And I agree that the Konami blaming needs to stop, but only because its a bandwagon now and its actually discrediting those, like me with legitimate concerns/complaints of Konami.

We do know that game was rushed however because of the dissolution of Kojima productions and the short time period between GZ and TPP (A little over a year). Games have been alleged to be rushed with much less information, and we also know game delay was not an option, unless the hired a new team to finish the game (lol)

Furthermore, when you have a game that supposedly supposed to sell your new engine, it would make more sense to delay it rather than other cases.

So just because their is a bandwagon, doesn't mean the incitor of that bandwagon is wrong. Kojima designed the FOB system, but Konami rushed the production. We don't know how complete the former was, but we do know the details about the latter.

Like I said in the other thread, if you have a problem with the overall gameplay, story, characterizations thats Kojima, but its obvious that Konami was responsible for missing or incomplete features, or anything else that would've benefited from extended, possibly reasonable, development time.

Maybe, but the cost for extending the development would've been even bigger than it is.

Crap I didn't actually explain this in my other reply. That's not how development costs actually work. They are increased when more money is spent. Granted, (in a sense) money is lost until production. But considering the fact that they created the Fox Engine for/with this game. The loss from rushing the game, which we know they did (see Kojima Fall-out), would be tantamount to making the engine look bad, which is (theoretically) a lot worse than having a single entry cost more money.

If it wasn't for #KonamiGate, releasing TPP this early would make no sense, GZ released last year, with only one map of this game completed mind you. Its likely that the other maps where already indev when GZ was released but even then.

Plus other than the fox engine itself, which I already explained would warrant the higher dev cost, we don't have that much evidence for that assertion, however it is very likely that the game was rushed by what we do know.

A good example would be Destiny, its not an engine, but the mentality is the same, a lot of money was spent on it, more than reasonable for a AAA budget at its time, but its apparanetly planned for 10 years, which should be enough to make its money back.

Isn't that effectively just Konami?

I am sorry but if someone pays konami this they are stupid as hell.
FOB was created simply to suck money from microtransations, i dont even play that shit.

The problem is, from the very moment Ocelot forces you to create an FOB, and your console connects to the internet and send the info to Konami servers, you'll get royally screwed from time to time. You don't even need to play it in order to get invaded.

Heck, you don't even need PS+ to play this multiplayer part. They probably thought this in advance. The more players that can screw your base and materials, the better.

Sooo the answer is to always disconnect from the internet before you boot up TPP and don't reconnect until you've shut the game down? I have absolutely no interest in doing online FOB stuff when I finally get around to playing this (I got it as a gift) and if it's necessary to have a decent FOB for single player I don;t want to have to kuch around with trying to keep it safe, or insured.
