I say we just execute all jaywalkers. They're the worst

Pedestrians are the worst.

Does everyone honestly think that he was being arrested for jaywalking ...? I keep seeing everyone saying that and it's kind of hard to believe that people believe that. Jaywalking gets you a citation. It's obvious as day that he's being arrested for something else, even if jaywalking had something to do with the original problem.

Also, calling for backup has nothing to do with anything. I'm pretty sure that's standard procedure if someone isn't cooperating and it really changes nothing. It's a good thing and safer for everyone involved.

We cannot comment on whether excessive force was used as the video does not capture the whole incident.

Fair enough.

excessive force is defined as: An unreasonable seizure occurs when a law enforcement officer usesexcessive force in making a lawful arrest. Whether force is reasonably necessary or excessive is measured by the force a reasonable and prudent law enforcement officer would use under the circumstances. - http://www.lectlaw.com/def/e055.htm

I'm not a lawyer, nor do I want to be, but I would argue pinning him down and calling more officers against a 14 year old, which we do see in the video, would constitute excessive force, but that assumes the arrest was lawful itself, and its up to a judge.

16-year old. Well, you can't argue that when we having seen what transpired before.

Arrested for jaywalking?? Seriously??

no arrested for disobeying a lawful order, then resiting detainment, then grabing the cops baton

How many times have you heard of anyone, ANYWHERE, being stopped for jaywalking (which everyone does, everywhere btw), and the police takes out the baton? Do you think the police would have done anything if this kid instead would have been a businessman jaywalking? Wikipedia thankfully has a great, simple description of the term "police state": "Police state is a term denoting government that exercises power arbitrarily through the police."

well the cop, told him to get out of the street. Guy tells him to f*** off, and continues blocking bus path. after guy refuses to stop breaking law, cop attempts to detain and remove him from street. Guy resists. Cop pulls out baton, Guy grabs baton, and continues resisting. Stupid crowd of requisite "he's a baby, my baby did 'nuffin wrong. He was a good kid". Cop per protcol calls back up.

Why would someone call backup, in the hostile situation.

It's simple. Stop Breaking laws, then this wont happen.

and no i dont think the police wouldve done this to a businessman, because unlike this thug, he would have complied and got out of the street.

Did you happen to record the incident too, or were you just simply an eye witness?
