Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Mozilla CEO blasts Microsoft over Windows 10 defaults

Apparently Windows 10 goes to Microsoft Edge when upgraded from previous Micro OS and doesn't give an option to keep other web browsers so Mozilla CEO Chris Beard wrote an open letter to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella

https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2015/07/30/an-open-letter-to-microsofts-ceo-dont-roll-back-the-clock-on-choice-and-control/

arguing that he’s concerned not because of Mozilla’s position as the maker of Firefox, but because Microsoft isn’t respecting choices users made when they were using previous versions of Windows. Still, the change of defaults could cut down on the use of Mozilla’s browser, since it could cause some people to abandon Firefox because it’s no longer the default experience on their computers.

He wrote:

“The upgrade process now appears to be purposefully designed to throw away the choices its customers have made about the Internet experience they want, and replace it with the Internet experience Microsoft wants them to have,”

Do you believe Mozilla CEO's complaints justified or not?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Chrome here

I'm pretty sure people will still prefer to use Firefox, even if Edge is a good browser.

Butthurt at it's most apparent. If consumers really care that much about Firefox, they will redownload it. If they don't, take it as a message that people aren't using it and you ain't as relevant as you used to be.

bet: lost

Chrome seems to be working fine, though hyperlinks from places such as Skype seem to default through to Edge right now. Have yet to have the time to alter it but it'll no doubt be easy, so there's no problem.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I used to be a Firefox only user before Chrome came along, switched over and haven't looked back since but thats not saying Firefox is a bad web browser. Their users will definitely switch back regardless of what MS defaults users too.

i hope the EU sues MS again for abusing its monopoly

MS never learns, i hope this time the EU will not let em get away so cheaply..
