Microsoft showed exclusive after exclusive game, surprised the world with backwards compatibility and gave hardcore gamers what they wanted. But was it enough? Based on Twitch.tv the platform on which most people watched the conference, the Microsoft held show garnered the highest viewership of all the conferences, with EA coming in at a distant second.

But that’s not all, Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram showed that the Xbox platform dominated the conversation with over 70% of mentions and posts being about the Xbox. Other platforms barely registered as being anything out of the ordinary.

No doubt be reflected in worldwide sales soon enough.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that E3 hype has to be system reveal strong for the majority to still care more than a couple of weeks after. Microsoft certainly got more discussion in a lot of places, but most of it was just "omg backwards compatibility Microsoft has won the generation". I saw very little discussion on their game releases, peripherals, or otherwise.

You can't downplay if you put where you lose :D

Really?.. Go on youtube and look at the views for Playstation demo's/trailers compared to Microsofts and you'll see where the popularity lies.

I'm not surprised, Microsoft gave a good reason for people to buy an Xbox One this year while Sony gave good reason for people to buy a PS4 1 to 2 years from now.
