Forums - Movies & TV - Jurassic World was absolute garbage

This movie was so so bad.

- The pacing was very poor and there wasn't even enough action. It's a sluggish at points.

- The whole talking to dinosaur stuff was so silly, it wasn't even possible to suspend disbelief even for a moment. The cheesy dialogue didn't make it any better.

- What about Vincent D'Onofrio and his plan to use raptors as army weaponry despite the fact that he saw that they could not be controlled?

- That stupid kid was very annoying.

This is a movie that has 7.4 on imdb.

2015 has been very, very poor in terms of blockbusters this year.

Oh yeah, the movie was awful. Grade A, 100%, twice distilled, prime garbage.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

1. The best action movies are ones that actually have enough breaks to make the action scenes actually meaninful. I'm glad they didn't turn Jurassic Park into Transformers...

2. This movie was clearly geared at a much larger demographic and was intended to feel safer for people, overall despite ages. It worked and not only made a MASSIVE amount of money, but was appreciate by people who don't enjoy going to see movies but for entertainment (including me).

3. This series has always had at least one human that tried to do something bad or selfish for stupid reasons, they are just sticking with tradition here.

4. Which kid? And yes, neither of them were particularly good for their roles imo. Agreed here.

5. imbd? Last I checked the box office speaks about whether or not a movie is good. Considering this is a reboot, if you will, and people didn't know what to expect, it went very well.

I personally saw this movie twice in theaters and I, honestly, would enjoy seeing it a third time. I've always loved this series but this one opened it up in a big way imo. It was a fantastic movie, overall.

#5, this wasn't a reboot...this was a straight sequel. They even acknowlege the old park...

Overall I can't even believe you and I saw the same movie...

The actor was sub-par, the story was so full of holes it could have been written at a swiss dairy farm, the characters were flat and the attention to detail was non-existant.

The raptor scene on the motorcycle was just SO BAD! Despite that part and more, I would still place this movie behind the original Jurassic Park.
For me:
1.) Jurassic Park
2.) Jurassic World
3.) Jurassic Park: The Lost World
4.) Jurassic Park III

I agree and when the kid decides, hey lets go into that fence that looks like a dinosaur has recently eaten it, Yea good idea, DERP, DERP, DERP... Can't stand movies where they make such stupid decisions that I don't think anyone else would have made in that same situation.

Best moment in the movie is when the tech guy wanted to kiss the female coworker but got denied. That and T-Rex got his honor restored. I guess that does tell you something.

Probably most annoying to me was that arlier in the movie even Owen was risking his life by stepping into the cage with the raptors for just a short moment. Then all of a sudden later they can just drive between them on motorcycles?

There were so many holes in that movie...

Why did that kid make such a big deal about leaving his girlfriend and then spend the rest of the movie just staring weirdly at other girls?

Why did they go through that hole in the fence at god damn dinosaur park?

How on earth did those flying dinosaurs pick up people?

Actually, why would those flying dinosaurs immediately know to fly all the way across the island and attack these people?

Why was the only helicopter pilot on the whole damn island the instructor who mysteriously goes missing halfway through the film?

How on earth did that woman run through the jungle in heels?

Why didn't her closes get dirty during that whole ordeal?

Why was everyone totally okay with watching that dinosaur kill and eat a live goat? What the fuck is wrong with those people? Where's PETA in all this?

Why did they just let Vincent D'Onofrios character die? Sure, he was a dick, but he's still a person and Chris Pratt had a fucking gun that he could have easily saved him with or idk, use his amazing raptor whisperer powers to stop it from killing him but NOPE! They just let some dude get eaten cause....shut up.

If the bad dinosaur had some genetic link to the raptors that let it take control of them from Starlord, why was it then so easy for him to take control back? Is HE part raptor? Is that what they were getting at during the end of Guardians?

Jesus, the more I think about this movie the worse it was.

mad max?

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

it was.... alright.

Had quite a few issues with it myself. To name some that haven't been already mentioned here:

- the family issues. They had no place in this story at all
- the gyrosphere attraction doesn't make any sense. So you can just board one of these and then roam around a certain area... without ANY kind of time limit? Pretty obvious that this wouldn't work for a real entertainment park.
- they ran through huge parts of the jungle and yet they made it to the next building with cars and people in front of it within seconds or minutes. They didn't even need those Mercedes vehicles that they were driving around with all the time. They could've just run.

I can only recommend watching the Angry review of it, since Joe mentions pretty much the same parts that have been discussed in this thread.
