I never said nintendo shouldnt have third party support, i think very well nintendo should have alot of third party support, also gamefreak is actually working on a game that is coming to PS4 and xbox one. If HAL works with Nintendo like smash bros its nintendos IP. Nintendo just uses alot of third party devs to make first party games.

Smash Bros is Nintendo's IP because Hal Laboratory has to use characters from different Nintendo's IPs to do so. But just because a third-party works for Nintendo doesn't mean Nintendo has to own the IP of the game. Going by Hal Laboratory, Arcana is a game of theirs that released exclusively on the Super Nes, but it is owned by Hal, not by Nintendo.

By the way, i apologise but i think you are right about second party existing, i read somewhere , where it doesnt exist. but it apperantly does.  So i apologise for my lack of information.

200 dolars consoles ? lol

You serious?

Yes, Iwata and Miyamoto have talked about the problem with the wiiu price several times, they think is one of the main reasons why the WiiU failed, so I´m pretty much sure is one of the first problems they are gonna try to solve. Maybe is not 200$, but something close is possible.

I don't even see how a $200 console could beat the Wii U in power.... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say $300. (Wii U released for $350 for the deluxe, and they were taking losses on it.) Otherwise there will be no real reason to release it.

NINTENDO DOES NEED 3RD PARTIES TO HELP DEVELOP GAMES HERE'S A FEW EXAMPLES:
`-Hyrule warriors (Tecmo)
-Star Fox Zero (Platinum Games)
-Star Fox Assault (Bandai)
-Zelda Oracle of Seasons/Ages (Capcom)
-Mario RPG (Squaresoft)
The List goes on...

WiiU and 3DS had droughts and sometimes even aligned.

Genres and gameplays that thrive in console and hand helds are different. So I think it will add to identity problems. And probably most of WiiU owners have a 3DS so it will shrink userbase and will lose double dips from games like mk and ssb.

And if they decide to release a single sku that you have the console portion on TV and portable as control akin WiiU (but able to take with you standalone) it costing 200 would make it too weak to be worth as console, but good as secondary.

Maybe if all conditions on the ideal world you described happen they may be viable. But from what I see with the userbase this gen Nintendo is losing Money, if smartphone eat more sales from hh and Sony MS robs more mindshare in consoles, I could see Nintendo selling no more than 60M NX and 300M SW on the gen, not sure if enough to be successfull, but certainly good for survival if managed right.

Nintendo needs 3rd parties, what they dont need is multiplats as they have never really sold well or moved significant hardware for Nintendo.

Sorry moon, but I gotta disagree. Nintendo, or any 3rd party in general, needs 3rd parties to succeed. The Wii U shows pretty well what happens when you don't have 3rd party. Maybe it can get by, but succeed, not really...

You do realize that most of the games on their handhelds are 3rd party?

They wouldn't be able to make games fast enough to support it with JUST Nintendo games.

The top 10 of best selling games in 3DS are all first party games.

But the top 10 doesn't give you anything to stand by; just that the top 10 of 3DS best selling games happen to be first party games.

Going by that rule:

3 games in 2011.

2 games in 2012.

3 games in 2013.

2 games in 2014.

Sounds like a terrible drought to have if you only rely on first-party.

Make the maths, how many games Nintendo released last year for 3DS? And how many for WiiU? If you combined that number you have a very decent amount of games per year, it would have no major droughts at all.

Numbers dont count only. How many AAA Titles did nintendo released this year?

3ds:

Majoras Mask (Port)

Xenoblade Chronicles (Port)

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Wii U:

Splatoon (New Game)

Missed anything?

AAA Titles for Ps4 this year:

Battlefield Hardline

Order 1886

Bloodborne

Project Cars

The Witcher 3

Mortal Kombat X

Evolve

Resident Evil Revelations 2

Dragonball Xenoverse

Dying Light

Darksouls 2 (Port)

Final Fantasy Type 0 HD (Port)

Resident Evil Remastered (Port)

Any competition?

So only AAA titles count as games? I'm sorry to break it to u but Nintendo has never, ever been a company about spending copious amounts of money on a single games budget.

yeah only them count. Otherwhise ps4/xbox one and wii u are all crap and android and ios are the big gaming machines. They get alot more games as all 3 systems combined.

That's just arrogance. Nintendo needs 3r.d party support more than anything. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not that is really the biggest reason why the Wii U is failing. Look at mobile and PC. Technically no first party software at all and the games sell gangbusters.

Nintendo should grovel, beg, bribe. whatever it takes to ensure their next systems have good third party support.

without third party support no console can survive by its own.
