Well saying mobiles are beasting the handheld department is like saying gaming laptops and pc's are trashing the console market too different but similar markets.

O.T Nintendo brand reconition is stronger is HH market then completion. That's all folks

That's not true. Before 2010 - 2015, handheld and home consoles have been able to thrive with the PC gaming market, which had significantly shrank from its former size ever since the NES was released.

But since the late 2000's, the gaming market in smart devices started to increase in revenue and profits year after year. And since 2010, console and handheld sales have been much lower than pre-2010 while the revenue and profits in gaming market in smart devices are worth more than the other two.

Because of big titles like Pokemon, Mario and Zelda.

Because it has no competition

You're right, Playstation is no competition. :D

You need to check up on your handheld history, there has been plenty of competition, but they all failed for numerous reasons.

I don't understand why bringing up mobile gaming supposedly downplays the handheld sector. Although they both play games, to an extent, they aren't inherently the same. Hence why they have different names.

Some people still use mobile as ammo to say nintendo isn't dominating handhelds because mobile is. It's the same with people bringing up handheld sales in a console discussion to say that playstation isn't winning the console war because of handhelds. bla bla bla. Everyone knows that those are seperate but it doesn't stop 'em from trying to use it.

More like handheld slaughter.

A number of reasons. The biggest one is, of course, Pokémon.

Aside from that, Nintendo has more experience than their only competitor. Their brand awareness for handhelds is also bigger, partially because Nintendo made the only mainstream handhelds for a while.

Couple that with cheaper development on games, actual support from their manufacturer, and finally the fact that Nintendo has no other choice but to win handhelds right now. If they weren't, they'd be in big trouble.

Games. 3DS did sold mediocre, until they released some key games and dropped the price.
