Yeah, sorry but I wouldn't have Stockton at starting PG either. I would go Jerry West. He's flexible with great offensive and defensive capabilities. 27 points (no 3 point line either and he shot from deep), 5.8 rebounds, 6.7 assists. Blocks and steals weren't tracked, but official estimates put it at .7 to 1 blocks and 2.6 to 3 steals per game. And he could achieve multiple blocks and 6 to 10 steals in a game; was reported to do so multiple times. He is reported to have pulled a quadruple double with 44 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists, and 10 blocks. I mean come on, he won the Finals MVP while being on the losing team in 1969; no one else has performed well enough to earn that. The guy is just more flexible and impactful than Stockton based on data.

Well West was a undersized shooting guard and that is the poistion he played most of his career.  John Stockton alwasy was a point guard and is the best pure point guard of all time.

Well I'll take flexibility over specialization any day.  Especially when the former can be exception at the latter's specialty.  In 72, he was point essentially the whole time and averaged 9.2 assists led his team on a 33 game winning streak, and that's late in his career.  And when you factor in Jerry's lockdown defense, it's a pretty easy choice IMO.  Not to mention how severely West outclasses Stockton offensively.  I would bring Stockton or Magic off the bench personally; I would want to lead with my heaviest hitter.

Well if I where to make a all time NBA second team I would put West on it.  As for West being the only player to win a NBA finals MVP on a loosing team I'm thinking if LeBron keeps his numbers up and the series goes at least six games even if the Cavs loose its going to be hard to give the MVP to anybody else right now he is averaging a triple double even though his shooting tonight was less then impressive.

I would be absolutely flabbergasted if Lebron wins a finals MVP while losing.  I mean come on, there have been situations of exceptional play from losing players.  But you have to be unreal to get that because you can bet some opponent will also be really good; that's why they won :P .  and don't forget West did that injured for the latter few games; that fact undoubtedly factored into the MVP choice.  As for West being on a second team, I think bumping Kobe off your list would make far more sense.  Jerry is more flexible in terms of what roles he can pick up and outclasses him in every single stat:  points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, every stat.  Putting West on second team makes no sense, whether talking as a point guard or shooting guard.

Well one thing is for certain West is a much better team player and teammate then Kobe.  Kobe could have won a lot more titles if would have been a better team players at least two more but more then likely more then that.

Now this series is interesting. Cavs won that game but Curry actually found his stroke in the 4th quarter. It'll be interesting to see if that carries over to Game 4 because if it doesn't and the Cavs win, this series over. Also, Lebron actually might just win the MVP regardless of the outcome of this series.

ANOTHER 40 point game for Lebron. DAMN

If it goes seven and his numbers are close to where they are right now its going to be hard to give it to anybody on the Warriors even if they win it.

Just give it to the Cavs' bench, for making the Cavs' starters play nearly every minute of every game. Warriors rarely seem to be a competent team until the Cavs start running on fumes...

Curry may have found his stride a bit at the end, but the question is causality. If the Cavs exhaustion was the cause then that's still a problem for Golden State because they can't afford to trail such a determined defensive team by double digits until the fourth. So far, they've had to count on fourth quarter runs to make themselves competitive; they can't win the series that way.
