Well West was a undersized shooting guard and that is the poistion he played most of his career.  John Stockton alwasy was a point guard and is the best pure point guard of all time.

Well I'll take flexibility over specialization any day.  Especially when the former can be exception at the latter's specialty.  In 72, he was point essentially the whole time and averaged 9.2 assists led his team on a 33 game winning streak, and that's late in his career.  And when you factor in Jerry's lockdown defense, it's a pretty easy choice IMO.  Not to mention how severely West outclasses Stockton offensively.  I would bring Stockton or Magic off the bench personally; I would want to lead with my heaviest hitter.

Well if I where to make a all time NBA second team I would put West on it.  As for West being the only player to win a NBA finals MVP on a loosing team I'm thinking if LeBron keeps his numbers up and the series goes at least six games even if the Cavs loose its going to be hard to give the MVP to anybody else right now he is averaging a triple double even though his shooting tonight was less then impressive.

I would be absolutely flabbergasted if Lebron wins a finals MVP while losing.  I mean come on, there have been situations of exceptional play from losing players.  But you have to be unreal to get that because you can bet some opponent will also be really good; that's why they won :P .  and don't forget West did that injured for the latter few games; that fact undoubtedly factored into the MVP choice.  As for West being on a second team, I think bumping Kobe off your list would make far more sense.  Jerry is more flexible in terms of what roles he can pick up and outclasses him in every single stat:  points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, every stat.  Putting West on second team makes no sense, whether talking as a point guard or shooting guard.
