"Godlike"!!!

I actually do think Xbox`s debacle of a release did and still is affecting them. I think it certainly did affect the game side of things. Xbox really messed up and Sony reaped on the benefits, even displaying how terrible their DRM system was on stage at E3. Sony also did such an excellent job this time, with a great console, great marketing, and games coming along.

I don`t think it can be narrowed down as to why the PS4 is surpassing the Xbox by far.

I disagree that the games are what is selling it. I would argue that the exclusives are fairly evenly matched. Future exclusives? Those are pretty equal too. The XBOX launch debacle/Sony's response + better marketing + hardware performance + the fact that Playstation is an older and bigger brand is why it is outselling X1 IMHO.

1 - Better Hardwere - CHECK

2 - Better Games - according to Metacritic yes, but also is a matter of personal taste

3 - More Games - CHECK

4 - A far stronger brand - CHECK

If Microsoft never wouldve started out with their original vision and started off the way they are now. It would be a different story altogether

but they burned too many bridges right from the get go, even disrespecting their own fan base by saying if they dont like the XB1 then just go buy a 360 instead

so xbox fans got pissed and jumped ship

a) The PS4 barely has more games than the Xbox One, maybe not even that. There is a negligible difference.

b) The reason the PS4 is selling so well are due to these reasons:

1. Price ($399)
2. Not shoving the camera down our throats
3. Momentum from the PS3 (PS3 was dominating 2011-2013, Xbox 360 slowed down significantly)
4. Microsoft's DRM policies. Even though they reversed them the damage was done

c) Both the PS4 and Xbox One are mega disappointments

Same is true of the XB1 games with a 90+ meta, except there's only 2 instead of 6.

I think you're missing the part where the topic isn't about how great the PS4 library is but rather how much better than the XB1 library it is.

The PS4 is selling more because of Microsoft's fuck up. That resulted in a huge ripple effect.

I think all those red rings of death put people off Microsoft.
