This was what I thought as I read the OP.  I also don't recognize the poster...but if there's anyway to get attention, it's to create an account suicide thread.  

I always think that the best way to change a community that you don't like is to become the change you want to see.  This forum has gone through so many tonal shifts that you can see people are doing this on a regular basis.  

I do think that the OP will be back around E3...we always do.  Many people have made posts and threads complaining about the community, and many of them don't realize that we're in that time of the year.  Sales data is trailing off after the holidays, few major titles are being released, students are actually trying to be students, and in general many people are just going through the post holiday blahs.  OP...you're probably doing the right thing...take a break, play a game, don't play a game, chill and come say hi when you're feeling up to it.  But please, please, don't blame us for your malaise.   

All the people that is saying they're sorry to see you go aren't really sorry.

Based on the responses in this thread, if I ever decide to leave VGC, I'll not be making a post like this.

I think VGC has its fair share of fun and appreciative threads but naturally a lot of the content on this site seems quite analytical and I guess critical, but I think thats fair its also a sales site. Anyways the best way to enjoy gaming is to game, so hope you have fun :)

Also I get your feelings with the new consoles, tech wise they're not as magic and games wise they've gotten of to a crowd pleasing (lots of cross gen, big established IPs) but uneventful start (Not a lot of stand out games or new experiences), hopefully this year it will rectify it.
