When Halo comes out the Xbox will have a good year.

Halo itself won't guarantee it has a good overall year (it likley doesn't release until the final quater after all), but its release will certainly make the chances of it being down YOY in 2015 drop from "really unlikley" to "lol no"

Halo is the reason for midnight releases at stores. That is all. When a new halo launches on a new console its generally pretty big. Let Halo 3 be your guide. People like a next gen Halo and it will sell consoles. Its up to Microsoft and 343 to keep people into Halo. 2015 will outsell 2014, mark my words. Halo will be the driving console seller and Black friday will be bigger, because Microsoft knows just how to market a big shooter.

He seems to forget those inevitable Halo custom console bundles that come out for the main games.

Definitely. I am going to cry, because it will be prettier than my Xbox One. Actually, after the last Gears custom skin for the Xbox 360 I am pretty curious about that. That was just badass. For some reason i've always thought that Microsoft marketing was always better for their big games than Sony and the way they create their limited edition consoles is something Sony either doesnt feel the need to follow or just doesnt completely understand.

With MCC very very negative reputation and Halo 5 being a COD game with Halo skins, 343 has a lot of ground to make up

MCC works fine now and all users affected by the lack of stability in the online area are getting Halo ODST for free. Halo 5 has been the highlight of a lot of positive news in the last week or two.

All I know right now is that the Halo 5 beta, one year out from launch of the full game, is the most fun I've had with Halo MP since Halo 3, and 343 already showed me with Halo 4 that they can craft a far better story than Bungie ever did. So with that said, Halo 5 could be the best Halo game to date when it releases.

Unfortunately, the wait will be torture once the beta goes down.......

Not what you see on the Halo Waypoint forums. The game still has issues that are creating a bad expirience. the beta is getting a lot of mixed reviews also. But Halo is Halo.

My point is that 343 lost a lot of good consumer will.

It will never ever be as bad as Halo: Reach, so I'm confident that Halo 5 will be, at least, great; and it will perform great in sales too.

What did you find so bad about Halo Reach?

The terrible plot. On Reach's defense, though, I never touched the multiplayer component.

Really? Honestly thought thought youd say multiplayer was the let down. I can only think it was a bit more simplistic than the main series but personally thought that worked in its favour. Difference of opinion I guess.

Thats the risk of putting a whole collection of games on a disc and running all of the maps. Complications will occur. As long as they are fixed in due time it should be fine.

It was a mess, riddled with some plotholes, and that expected the player to have read some Halo novels to fill in some of the gaps. That's my personal view on the plot, though.
