He'd have to exclude the Wii too (so the DS, 3DS and Wii). Hence i said to him "You might want to rethink your use of the word "any" ^^".

On a side note, GT6 is heavily under-tracked here. I'd guess it's somewhere between 4 to 5 million right now. Still a large drop from GT5, as you'd expect considering it's launch conditions, but a small drop that VGC have it at.

Again, consistently.  Do you expect anything on WiiU to replicate the success of Wii with as many casuals as it had?  That audience is gone therefor your sales are going to shrink considerably and that is exactly what is happening.   If i'd bet on anything this generation, id bet on Uncharted increasing and maybe matching Halo.  But on Nintendo's side, i doubt it.  Look at Gamecube numbers and that will be more telling than the Wii

Whether it is undertracked or not it is 5-7 million below GT5.  I can imagine GT7 will do much better, but im curious to see if people will buy into it as much as it use to be. Id predict 7m at the very least though

I already covered that too "You did say "right now", but seeing as the last numbered release was on a 7th gen system, and MCC not being the highest selling 8th gen exclusive, your comment wouldn't make much sense unless you exclude the Wii, DS and 3DS."

Really though, i'm going to end this conversation here. All i did was point out that he might like to rethink his use of the word "any". I see no reason people should be expected to assume he's including [x], excluding [y] and limiting it to a specific context, especially when all those conditions contradict the literal statement. Life would be awfully complex if that much interpretation was needed to understand a single word ^^

It will never ever be as bad as Halo: Reach, so I'm confident that Halo 5 will be, at least, great; and it will perform great in sales too.

What did you find so bad about Halo Reach?

The terrible plot. On Reach's defense, though, I never touched the multiplayer component.

If you read what i said you will notice i said Halo mainline.  And sure it is, WiiU is not Wii.  Mainline Mario does not, and has never consistently sold 8m+ and the last three shows that, just like Gamecube showed that as well.

And you have a tendency of being very nitpicky with people's comments.  If you know what somebody means then don't go off course.  If you said "Rethink things" then i wouldnt have replied, but you included handhelds which i know you knew he wasnt talking about, and you know the reasons why.  Youre intelligent so dont nitpick everything people says and reply to them for what it does say.

And he also wasnt really wrong as ive said.  There is three exclusive franchises that perform on this level.  2/3 has dropped off in the last year.  We dont know where Halo 5 will be.  Id guess 6-9m lifetime

Well I said right now, and then when you commented I said consistently. Either way you slice it, Halo still sells more than any other exclusive on consoles. No point to keep arguing with you though, my point is valid. Every year people say Halo is dying blah blah blah and everytime the game sells fine.  I am really enthusiastic about Halo 5.

Also my point wasn't to denigrate the franchises of other consoles, it was to emphasize that despite all the doom and gloom everytime anotherer Halo comes around, it still averages some of the highest sells of all exclusives.

Halo 5 beta has convinced me 343 knows what they're doing. Apart from little issues this is the most competitive Halo game since Halo 3. As I said before Halo 5 feels like Halo 2 on steroids.

I do want to throw this out there as well. Im pretty sure, digital included, the last 3 halo games has sold 10m each.

In your first comment you said "right now" and i explained why that wouldn't make sense unless you were excluding the DS, 3DS and Wii (which would be a rather long way outside of "any"). When you then said consistently, while still not mentioning what platforms you were and weren't including, i mentioned Pokemon, which "consistently" outsells every entry in the Halo series.

You can spin it any which way you like, your original comment in its original context was wrong.

As i said to Jay though, i'm ending this discussion here. We've gone complexity off topic and all this dancing around in an attempt to justify your initial statement is rather tiring ^^;
