Forums - Nintendo Discussion - For what purpose will you buy Mario maker?

Honestly this game would only be of real interest to me if they allow us to also make 3D levels/worlds similar to Disney Infinity sandbox mode. Otherwise, if we can only make 2D side scroller levels then I will probably skip it. Unless of course this game is really cheap, like $30.

It will make a fine coaster for my drinks

Not if you buy it digitally :P

me no buy!

Doubt I'll make any levels, just play others.

So I will wait on buying this until online sharing is implemented (if not on release)

I won't; it'll likely have the same problem as all user generated content games; 99% of gamers have the game design skills of a chimpanzee with fetal alcohol syndrome.

Have you played Pullblox world? a lot of the player created levels ive played have been great. It gives me confidence in there being some interesting Mario stages made.

Nah, haven't tried that one, doesn't look like my cup of tea.

To create super long levels with a trolling ending, the one that you saw in E3's trailer, where Mario couldn't pass because there were a bunch of blocks in his way.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I honestly want to recreate the OG Super Mario Land for the Game Boy. I love that game! Dunno how I will duplicate the Submarine levels though. Maybe Nintendo will release that add-on via DLC?

Also wouldn't mind adding my own music to the game if it allows. I would add the remixed versions of each level theme from the SML soundtrack that was originally released in 1989 in Japan.

Not like LBP was the first to do it. LBP got it from Mega Man Powered Up. So why would they aim to copy a copy? Mario Maker is aiming to be Mario Maker

What? I said it was a good thing Mario Maker isn't as complex as LittleBigPlanet. I don't want it to be. I never said Mario Maker was ripping off anything. Try reading my actual post next time.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I want to create my own Super Mario game with the full 32 level design and try to get as creative as possible, as well as have my friends test it out.

I'll play it.

But this is my main concern with this game: are we all going to get 2D Mario fatigue after this?  I mean how will Nintendo be able to get us excited again for the next version?  They're going to need to step it up beyond what all the creative Nintendo fans come up with.  This could be a good thing, as Nintendo often does their best work when their backs are against the wall.
