So who are you again?

Anyways, always good to hear someone making more cash than before. But 1 hour of commute is a bit harsh imo.

1 hour isn't too bad if it is total time both ways. I commute 45 minute to work and 1 hour from work.

It sucks.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

nice to see you back SuperC :)

As is tradition i disagree with some of the points you mentioned in the OP. There's a good chance Nintendo goes 3rd party if the sales of the hardware continues to decline. So i really dont think its a dumb question to be asking, perhaps an immature question but certainly not dumb.

Well my commute ranges from as little as 40mins to 1hr one-way. I don't really mind as its my quiet time. I ignore phone/laptop/work/etc and just listen to nothing or random radio.

Even the occasional bummer areas where traffic is a bit crazy is ok with me considering that I bought a house for 1/2 or more less than it would have been to live in the city and I'm not living in the city. I hate that. The more rural suburb is so much better.

Plus I can work from home whenever. Today will be my last day in the office for 2014. So I can work around the worse traffic or just avoid it and stay home.

You fill our collective hearts with chunkiness, super chunkiness. Welcome back.

I hate you. I wish I could work from home.

My commute is as I said and I too listen to radio on the ride and while I say it sucks, it isn't ENTIRELY bad. Yes, I would rather my ride from work be 20 minutes, but the 45 minute ride TO WORK isn't terrible.

I also make this commute due to purchasing a home. This is why I deal with it. Made $4,500 on my 401k this year from this job, so no complaints. I'm still only 30, still have a long ways to go in making sure I have enough for my retirement.

I refuse. Only one person has ever not accepted a friend request from me, Greatest Of All Humans. Superchunk has officially lost his linking privileges.

If he landed in the Bay Area, it's about average for one-way, and less than what a significant number of folks have to go through.

Did I not accept a friend request from you or are you referring to rol?

I landed a bay area type of job including its pay scale but, I stayed in AZ for a far lower cost of living. :)

It's good you started 401k. Make sure you maximize your before tax deduction and if you can afford it, start another investment. It's never to early to save and build a portfolio.

I've actually been putting money into a 401k for years but did not really pay any attention to it until this year. I borrowed from it last year to cover my down payment on the house and thanks to paying attention and moving around funds I have more than I did before I took out the 401k loan. This is what I mean when I say I made $4,500, as I am $4,500 OVER where I was last year.
