But why is NPD such a massive thing? People on both side either rejoicing or in denial about Xbox One winning NPD November. I don't know if it's just me but saying "well the PS4 IS still easily winning worldwide" sounds like damage control when surely it should be the other way around where the statement of "well we won in x region" should be damage control..

You're totally right. NPD is only a piece of the pie. Xbone won NPD, but lost overall yet, you wouldn't know it judging by forum comments/threads lately. 

The only important sales information is WW because that is taking into acount TOTAL sales.

I don't mind celebrating NPD on either way, what really annoys me is celebrating it like if they are winning on a WW scale. I mean if you see xbox one winning the NPD, you start seeing article about xbox one closing the gap which it may confuse readers because they would think they are talking about WW sales which is misleading.

I just can't believe what I read on this forum sometimes. The PS4 has outsold the XB1 WW but the XB1 has outsold the PS4 in America. It's as simple as that. No matter how many times people try to prove one market is bigger than the other, the fact still remains the PS4 outsold the XB1 in November. The PS4 stretched its lead for another month and will again in December. That doesn't make the XB1 a bad console though, which is what I think a lot of people think these topics are designed to show.



 

The PS5 Exists.
