Even though Ninty and Sony fans fight it seems we root for each other...japanese companies stick together :P But would Sony fans pick Wii U over X1?

I wouldn't pick up either because I don't have enough time for my PS4 as it is. I got a Vita as a present and use it maybe 10 times a year. Ninty games just don't appeal to me anymore but if I had a family now I'd def by a Wii u for the kids to play. Wouldn't by an Xbox ever I don't think.
I wish Sony and Ninty would merge as one company. Over all SOny is bigger but they're bot a million miles apart. And Ninty have potential to make huge money on the mobile platform in future so they won't be getting weaker anytime soon. They would be an incredible partnership for gaming considering their audience doesn't clash too much, would be the perfect console for gamers of every type.

i don't think it's necessarily good will for sony so much as it is healthy hatred for microsoft. you still won't catch me playing crash or spyro or focus-grouped-to-death stuff like littlebigplanet over a proper nintendo platformer (kirby/mario/yoshi/wario) or uncharted/tlou/beyond over a proper adventure game (zelda/metroid).

Yeah I agree but I disagree with your description of a proper adveture. You will get the best adventure games on the PS4. Most are made by 3rd parties but they're not on the Wii U or 3DS. If you like adventure games you're missing out. So was I when I used to only play COD every day.

well i have played uncharted 2, which is usually held up as the peak of "adventure" offerings on ps3, and tbh i came away underwhelmed, but not nearly as much as when I played tlou. adventure =/= interactive movie spliced together by passably mediocre gameplay. you're right cod is the greatest offender (press square to win), but so are the yearly assassin's creeds and the like. the only other adventure game from a third party i can think of as being decent is the tomb raider reboot, and that's now a timed ms exclusive and largely cut from the same cloth as uncharted.
now i will admit i'll play any of these games over crackdown, gears and halo 5000 the cortana collection (now with functional matchmaking!) any day of the week. but not joyfully, and certainly not with the kind of satisfaction the best games provide, which comes not so much from the story as from the gameplay mechanics.
