Yes?

No?

Maybe?

Nope. And the market will only grow through new countries going ito gaming, namely China, so overall X1+PS4 will not sale much more than X360+PS3. I expect a different distribution between the two though.

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

maybe a little bit.
definitely, the social integration and video uploading directly affects steamers and youtubers, but it's more red ocean in that regard. The question is, did sony take your average non-gaming consumer and make them want a ps4?
Not really.

Blue Ocean Strategy:
1: how to create uncontested market space by reconstructing market boundaries,
(Gaming is the platform, but creating an ecosystem based around games is not something that's been capitalized on yet. Seems to me that Sony wants to get you started with the PS4 and offers additional hardware that will/eventually/ allow you to have the home console experience, anywhere [Cell Phones for mobile, PSTV for an Extender, Vita for the hardcore mobile, and PSNow for the super casual])

2: focusing on the big picture,
(Entertainment. Interactive and non interactive entertainment. Sony wants to be the verb you spend your time doing - Games first, with Music, TV and Movies completing the full package)

3: reaching beyond existing demand and
(I interpret this as creating/innovating/pioneering products that people don't know they want yet. This means setting up and optimizing the infrastructure to support cloud streaming of multimedia. This is an investment, a risk and a gamble that transcends us as gamers and reaches to every household worldwide that has access to internet.)

4: getting the strategic sequence right.
(Not much to say. Their strategy so far seems flawlessly executed. )

I would say that there are some similarities between Sonys strategy and the Blue Ocean Strategy.

No, not in the slightest.

yes, it's this generation's wii

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Growth != blue ocean.

This generation will be far below the last in terms of total consoles sold, all said and done. PS4 will just have cannibalized what other companies got before, the sign of a stagnant/declining industry.

Why? Only the Wii audience is gone. And you can blame Nintendo for losing them. I'm pretty positive PS4+XBO numbers will equal PS3+360 when all is said and done. The industry is going back to what it always was.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Only if it represents Atlantis!

A poll would've been a good idea.
