It sucks that this game hasn't been working right, but it seems that almost every online game has some type of problem. It just turns out this one seems to have a fatal error. I agree, this should be pulled from the shelves in both retail and digital until it is fully repaired...

That's not true.

Well, seeing as how "it seems" is subjective in and of itself, what is your point?

It would be shorter for you to name a game that heavily depends on online that has not had troubles at launch.

Titanfall.

This. Had 0 issues with Titanfall on XB1 at launch

Pray for Evolution Studios.

It had a solid opening and legs might be good... when the game works.

I expect a Driveclub sequel between GT7 and 8. However, they gotta deliver a better game next time or it will be the end for them.

I don't see why we would get a sequel to be honest. From the get go this games reception had been luke warm, only getting hyped because it was a playstation exclusive or more recently because it has brilliant graphics. As a launch title it made sense, going forward GT7 will be on the horizon (2016) alongside plenty of multiplats before then.

It did have a good openning, but I only expect things to go SIGNIFICANTLY down after this fiasco and there are no chances of it matching Motostorms original PS3 numbers IMO. Personally I hope that once they fix the game and give it the post launch support they promised, we see something more interesting from these guys. *fingers crossed they're still around*

Hang on. They are cancelling the free version because they cant deliver the online aspects yet or in the forseeable future. To be fair, I dont see this as a big deal at all, after all it would have been "free".

However... what about the people that paid for it. Refunds should be immediate.

This game should have been canned before launch. They clearly new when they launched it that it was broken.

Very poor indeed.

Delaying/postponing is not cancellation. He's saying it's coming in the future, and apologizing for the long delays.

A game that was supposed to be a free gift to PS+ subscribers a year ago....

A game that was supposed to release at launch. It got pushed back because the game was delayed, nothing to do with PS+ itself. Now that the game is out, PS+ subscribers have a definite reason to complain.

It's amazing nobody other than me had Titanfall problems during launch.

At least articles show I wasn't crazy:
"Titanfall launch day issues are Microsoft’s problem, says Respawn engineer"
"After connection glitches at launch, EA issues Titanfall patch overnight"

Directly from Respawn:
"In a statement posted on Facebook 10-plus hours ago, Respawn wrote: “We’re aware that some users may have experienced early issues on PC and Xbox One. We’ve just pushed a patch that’s now recovering servers quickly. Players will load into Private Lobbies much faster and we’re continuing to monitor. Thanks for sticking with us on launch night, we appreciate your support!”"

There should be an official apology and compensation for the people who bought it, maybe even refunds. It became ridiulous at this point.

I'd rather they just ripped the social aspect out, and gave us loads of free extra courses and events because damn, the actual driving model itself is brilliant. I'd be quite happy for it to turn into more of a DIRT/GRID campaign.

I bought it last weekend, a bit oblivious to all the stuff that was going on (I'd wanted it since PS4 launch) and presumed it was just my internet connection playing up when I constantly got "cannot connect to server" nonsense.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

There is no chance of a Driveclub 2.  The brand is now synonymous with delays and failure.  The studio will probably continue working to sort out the online issues, make all the DLC, and then be shut down.  Sony already has Gran Turismo and they can always farm out another racing game if needs be like MS does

Similar to what you are doing now, no?  Why would you care about Driveclub when you don't own a PS4?

Well the original Motorstorm had heavy bundling. I'm not sure how that sold on its own, certainly not 3.8 million.

If this game does well in the long run, potential for a sequel does exist. They will eventually get the online features working properly and a PS+ version will be released.

In my opinion, there is enough potential in this IP for a sequel and they can recycle a lot of resources used in the original game. If they can't make a better game next time, get rid of the studio.

No they did not. Reviewers were playing it just fine before release.

Thats it.  Nothing to say but pick me up on a small point. lol.

This makes no sense.  Explain it to me.

What has happened?  it suddenly stopped working?  They have said it isnt simply server capacity so clearly its a coding issue.  How can it work and then not work.

This is all an aside anyway....  The game is a mess, refunds should be immediate and full.  GAF should start a petition or something.... thats what they do isnt it?

Some users here who were absolutely furious at MS for a day one patch on Forza (a game on a console they DIDNT own and a patch that in then end wasnt actually needed to play) are silent on this cluster fuck (a game on the console they DO own)... how curious?

Yes, since it was blatantly wrong. I have commented on this matter elsewhere, I don't need to repeat myself in every thread.

Btw, have you played the game? The game is nowhere close to being a "mess".
