Left E3 2014, Right Retail

As you can see the Amiibo figurines which are quite expensive (€15.00 in Europe) recieved quite a downgrade in quality if you ask me, especially Link, Marth and Peach look like a toy you can find nowadays in a Happy Meal. I first saw Amiibo's as a worthy collector item which had also a game functionallity, now I see amiibo's as an ugly NFC device which should be locked away after it used. After seeing the massive downgrade, would you still consider buying an Amiibo. Would you agree with me that Nintendo has lied to us gamers at E3 in at least an equally bad way as Ubisoft did with Watch Dogs and Sony did with Killzone 2. Or you simply don't care and buy them anyway, I do like the smash feature in which the Amiibo is going to play like you, but that's about it.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Firstly, this thread has been done many times and is likely to be locked.
Secondly, I would prefer they just made NFC coins now -_-

Yeah, some of the new plastic attachments look terrible.

My 8th gen collection

This is old, we have many newer far better quality images of the final products.

a. Thread has been done to death
b. They aren't even nearly as bad as people are trying to make them sound
c. They are 13$ and stuffed with NFC tech...what did you expect? If you want an expensive figure, buy an expensive figure. Is the OP actually trying to say that these are expensive figures? Obviously you know nothing about what figures normally go for...

There's definitely some downgrading between each figure, but for $13 they really don't look bad. You can't expect Play Arts Kai-level of detail when you're dealing with something so cheap.

Dont worry, these are version 1.0 amiibos that are used to test their feasability in the market. If the amiibos take off and become popular we will see amiibos looking like this

I really don't understand why grown men buy toys. I'm not even being sarcastic or snarky either. I really, REALLY don't get it.

*shrugs*

While i think yellow was a terrible choice for the pole holding Link, i would buy all of them with some exceptions (Marth and Peach). I think Link is bad too, but i know i am going to buy it for Zelda U.

I am going to wait a little before buying Link, maybe in the second edition (if it ever happens) they change the stances.

The following i still love and would buy anyway:
- Pikachu
- Kirby
- Fox
- Mario

You're not a collector. They aren't toys anymore to the people that buy them.
