Forums - Gaming Discussion - Destiny 75 on metacritic: its a gorgeous game but brings nothing new

The headline is a brief of the reviews, now i only played the beta, liked it but nah not worth the purchase, but my point is are reviewers not having double standards, think of tomb raider a game i loved, it brought nothing new gameplay wise but it was a great game, tlou did the same but they both goth high metacritic scores. So why the hate for destiny it seems good to me? Or is it just a case re viewers just got pd because they did not get to play the full version early?

Haven't read any reviews, but if Destiny is bashed for not bringing anything new to the table, that's fucking crazy. What's with that "every game needs to be something revolutionary" attitude lately?

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

- Terrible story
- Unbalanced and very basic PvP.
- Repetitive gameplay: deploy ghost and than kill waves of enemies.
- Areas are re-used a lot in different missions.

so they got on the hype train and never got off? To me it seems double standard anyway not that either company cares as they have at least doubled the investment but as a quality developer like bungie  they dont deserve this.

What would you rate the game?

Well I am enjoying it a lot, and that's all that matters really. Not exactly sure why Destiny is getting marked down so much for things other games do or lack as well.

thats the other issue it doesnt live up to there quality the story is bad, mp is no where near where halo 1-3 was, and once u reach the lvl cap all you can do is go through all the missions/strikes again just a higher lvl   people were expecting more from the way bungie was describing there game

My main issue with the game is the retail game seems like a vehicle to sell you $100+ in DLC(if they release DLC as they seem to have planned). I suppose a lot of games are doing that.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

That's not it at all.. the game was advertised as almost revolutionary from bungie itself.. so i think critics are very much fair. This game has been massively overhyped.

Praise the One.
