Well, how succesful do you think an EA console would be if it ever became reality? I know EA has some complex about their sales of Battlefield compared to Activisions COD, but they have some really strong brands.

FIFA: Around 15 million copies sold in each iteration.

Battlefield: Around 10-15 million copies sold in each iteration.

They also have PopCap and Bioware in their stable, where Mass effect has sold in excess of 10 milion copies.

Now, I am not talking about whether or not they would make such a leap, but how succesful do you think they would become?

I am thinking they would do great in the US and Europe and could actually threaten PS/XBox domination there. I am not sure if they would even release in Japan though :).

Not very, limited amount of games on it. Restricting the sports games would cost them too much if other options are available on main consoles. Those games sold well because of availability on platforms.

No Ninty games, No Sony games and no microsoft studios games.... it would basically be like "imagine any of the current or last gen systems but without their first party games. Also not so much as a sniff of activision 3rd party support.

I thought Bioware separated from Ea? I'd bet that to access the console you need to use an EA pass, which is limited and you have to buy more.

It would flop. Also I think they can't make Fifa exclusive to any platform.

They would lose their sport right quick and flop quick and hard.

they will lose thier fifia and nfl rights.

An EA console would rightfully bomb pretty badly!

It would flop not because of lack of Games, imagine Dragon Age, Titanfall, Battlefield, Mirror's Edge 2, All their sport games (madden, fifa, ufc, etc), need for speed, etc, all exclusive and it being close enough to the other consoles in power and architecture to get all the other third parties. They would do pretty fine, but then they would require you to sign up for an Origin account, and that of course will be the end of the console :P
