So we have to start paying the developers to make AAA games then?

Almost Never played an Indie or Arcade Game (Costume Quest and State of Decay were mostly Fun). When I see a Game like Hotline Miami got hyped i sometimes think of my old C64 and if i would like tomplay such kinda Games i really don't need a 400$ next Gen Console.

Like what?

Like "your games suck" when asked about the japanese game industry or "I dont want to make Halo or COD games, because I dont want to make shit"

Lol, so the words of one douchebag now justifies an attack on all indies?

Thats two doucebags and Im not attacking all indies...

indies >>> the AAA yearly rehashes

I have to agree with this. At least with indie titles, you're getting something fresh. AAA studios don't like innovating any more. Any one remember when Ubisoft said that they weren't going to make any new IPs that can't be turned into yearly franchises? There's the evidence right there.

Games such as Shovel Knight provide far more creativity, and therefore, far more fun than another itteration of Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Indies are better than AAA studios. I _am_ saying they're better than yearly AAA rehashes _and_ I'm saying they're the future of gaming entertainment.

You do it by buying aaa games already. By funding it more directly you have a say in what kind of games get made. But no not all "indie" aaa will be crowdfunded.

I dont see gamers getting a say in the development of a game as a good thing...

Hotline Miami is on a next gen console? ;p

It's one of them games you need to play to appreciate. Below those retro styled graphics lies one of the most high paced addictive action games in a long time.

I do agree, the amount of shit indie games are getting ridicules and early access + kickstarter shit isn't helping either.. I just hope that there is some sort of quality control in the future or else all platforms will be filled with mostly average to shitty games

Most indie games can be summed up as 8 bit platformer or 2d puzzle games

I hear this phrase a lot, and I don't understand why it bothers people that shitty games exist.  Whats the difference between a shitty game existing or not being made?  Is the percentage of non-shitty games that important?  Is it a console war thing to claim that some device/console/etc has a low percentage of shitty games?

Just let them exist, and (as I have said before) don't buy them.

(This isn't so much directed at you, more at the group of people as a whole with this ideaology)

No. No reason to ask for LESS. Makes no fucking sense.

Makes me think of people who complain about too many cars in GT.  Since when did too much content become a bad thing?
