The president of Nintendo won't be in attendance at E3 next week on the advice of his physician, a Nintendo representative confirmed to Polygon today.

Nintendo of America did not specify why Iwata, 54, was advised not to travel overseas in the immediate future, but said "it is business as usual for Mr. Iwata, and he continues his normal duties as president of Nintendo Co., Ltd. while he remains in Japan."

"As always, he will be actively involved in all of Nintendo's activities at the show," a Nintendo representative said.

Ohh! I hope hes alright! He seems to be on the path of bringing the wiiU back to life so hopefully its nothing serious

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

His body wasn't ready.

A Polygon article!

Still, hope he's OK. Won't make much of a difference anyway if he ain't there but still concerning

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

The spectre of Japanese overwork strikes again. First a two-week hiatus for Eiichiro Oda (due to an overwork-induced tonsular abcess he's had since last year getting removed), now Iwata won't be at E3 to tell us to understand.

Makes me wonder how long they've had the direct recorded...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Not really a big deal for E3, but still, I hope he gets better soon!

Damn it! I wanted Iwata's body to be ready!

In this case, it's a good thing Nintendo Pre-recorded their E3.

So, take that all you E3 Direct naysayers!

This time I'll understand, Iwata. Still sad to see that you're not coming to E3 :(
