No, websites will just have to focus on non-intrusive ads, which, btw, adblock lets through by default. Consumers are getting sick of being forced to watch thirty second longs ads to watch a one minute long video.

Without ads it would turn into "please deposit money to watch".

I don't like intrusive full screen ads, especially on mobile but I don't mind normal ads.  What do you hate more?

a) Sites that give you a preview then ask you to sing up / become a member to read more?

b) Ads?

It's one thing to use adblock to circumvent intrusive advertising, it's another to be an uppity douche about it.

Well... I don't think that everyone using ad-blockers is an idiot.

But using ad-blockers AND THEN publicly asking the guys losing money by ad-blockers for approval... he deserved that harsh answer. What has he expected? "Thank you for blocking the ads so we lose money"?
