Forums - Gaming - Pachter goes berserk. Insults questioner. "scumbag" "Idiot" "bastard"

Seen it already and yes i agree with him, some people are too cheap and no i'm not saying addblock is bad, just you can't have it all for free.

For his defense, the questioner indeed sounded like a total scumbag.

Also, I totaly agree with everything he said.

Rape, torture and murder not as horrible as avoiding advertising; Michael Pachter confirms.

They are obviously included. Have you ever seen a turturer, murderer or rapist that is not using adblock?

Do they get much internet in prison?

Obviously not. Which is the reason why they stop torturing, murdering and raping suddenly.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

The irony? A money grabbing whore working for the financial parasiting elite insulting an everyday working slave for not wanting to suffer through brain damaging ads.

Vomits.

You all know what's going to happen right? If it hasn't already. Ad block will simply trick the website into thinking that the viewer got the ad and watched it. So there will be no distinction between viewers who watched the Ad and those that blocked it. That way the site generates revenue from ads and consumers aren't bombarded with bullshit they had no intention of buying in the first place.

Unfortunately, some sites almost force you to use ad block. Some websites are like minesweeper I'm afraid to click anywhere on the page because it's gonna redirect me to these ad sites. Also there are these stupid popup ads noise ads etc. If ads are done right I won't run ad block otherwise I will use ad block guilt free.

Pachter speaks well, I like him. I do not agree with him all the time, but I just don´t care, I do not get offended with nothing, I just don´t give a shit.

The guy that asked the question was an idiot, fuck him. I love Pachter, and most of the people that hate him are idiot childsh kids anyways, so fuck them too.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Patcher was being an asshole back. The guy intentionally tried to piss him off so Patcher did the same back.

If this question was sent more kindly and more at odds with themselves, like "what's the right thing to do?", then I think he would've been a lot more respectful in his response.

Yeah, I want to be on patchers side because I really do respect him and his opinions. However that question was an obvious troll and he fell for it hook line and sinker. He got way to emotional and he could have handled it better. Trolls are like sharks man and he just let blood into the water. Then again he is very smart so maybe he was just trolling trolls so he could IP block em or something when they bombard his show with troll questions in the future. Or maybe he did it to generate more views by attracting trolls. Much like what IGN has been doing with the whole "console wars" thing.

The reason for the rise of AdBlock isn't because of ads, it's because of obnoxious advertising practices. If something is only mildly intrusive then people won't spend energy circumventing it. When it gets to downright annoying or even frustrating for the audience, then the fault falls directly on the heads of those who made it so.

Content providers need to look at the situation and understand that the real problem isn't AdBlock, it's intrusive ads that lead to people going out and downloading AdBlock or even avoiding their websites altogether.

I will tell you now that I would not visit VGC if I could not block the ads. Having multiple video ads PLAYING AT THE SAME TIME is fucking annoying. Likewise, I stopped visiting NFL.com because every single time I would check on a score, a video ad would play. VGC is actually the reason I finally went out an downloaded AdBlock in the first place.
