This and imo the games are better. Zelda Wiiu will be the final coffin.

'Ol boy who typed this was right on the money. Only thing he forgot to mention was the convoluted control schemes and lackluster online.

In contrast, the Wii U is forcing players to use the gamepad which many find repulsing (myself included). The new skylanders stuff that was announced is also turning me away from the console. |
What do you mean no gimmicks? The whole GameCube experience with its purple lunchbox shell, and toylike controller was one big gimmick meant to appeal to children.
I see what you are attempting to do, but your description is a fairly euphemistic way of describing GameCube's complete failure to do anything innovative in the way that all other Nintendo consoles have done. This is not a good thing, this is a very un-Nintendo-like thing.
In addition, the GameCube controller was a monstrosity that looked and felt like a child's toy. Aside from being made specifchild's or a child's hands, it also had one big green button, and several awkwardly positioned buttons, making the controller a real mess. The gamepad at least has a usable button configuration, the GameCube controller most certainly did not. The lack of a diamond facepad actually removed button configuration options that previous Nintendo controllers had. The right analog stick and the dpad were jokes as well. Terrible, terrible, terrible controller.
In terms of controller and innovation, the GameCube is a clear failure. It was a step backwards, and there is a good reason why Nintendo did not make anything like the GameCube controller ever again.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

WiiU is better than the Wii simply for the fact that you can watch porn on the GamePad!

Wii is so much better than GC it's not even funny; by the end of its life I expect Wii U to be somewhere in the middle, but closer to Wii.
original poster probably believes Wii U is the worst because of its sales. That's how I feel.
NINTENDO
nintendo forever . . .
I don't know if it's the worst, but so far it has been a clear dissapointment to me that is not even fun anymore. When I get it at launch I believe Nintendo will make great outstanding games that put to shame the other companies, yet I only see Nintendo making Wii games in HD and more 2D platformers. Kind of ironic since Nintendo made a big jump to 3D adventures with the N64.
Anyway, Wii is a very superior console in every aspect. It was a fresh intuitive console with new experiences as Wii Sports and Wii Fit combined with awesome outstanding core experiences like Zelda Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy.
I'm honestly very dissapointed with Nintendo this generation and I don't think they will do better until they decide to go full and serious.

GameCube just didn't deliver for me on the Mario/Zelda/Mario Kart/Donkey Kong front ... they just made way too many weird decisions with those franchises.
The way I see it, Wii U already has the GameCube beat on Mario (3D World + NSMBU > Sunshine) and Donkey Kong (DKC: TF > Jungle Beat). Mario Kart 8 seems like it will be better than Double Dash too.
If Wii U's Zelda is better than Wind Waker, for me Wii U wins.
I really hope the Wii U gets either a Wave Race or F-Zero before its done though.

You're right, they made some wacky decisions but the games weren't bad by any means. The Gamecube also had Luigi's Mansion, the Metroid Prime series, Pokemon Colloseum and XD Gale of Darkness and I'm sure there is more stuff I can't think of at the moment. No doubt the Wii U CAN be better than the Gamecube in the future, maybe even by the end of this year depending on what they have to show at E3 but I don't think they are there just yet.
