Oooohh noooo... high heeeeeeeeeelssssss... But Mario and Link are wearing boots... BOOTS! That TOTALLY appeals to girls and not boys! That's sexism! And (on a more serious note) the Male Wii Fit Trainer is totally super hot!
Really!? What do people find in high heels!?? How can somebody find an uncomfertable, expensive, and not even good looking shoe as "sexualized"?

I don't know why anyone would find high heels sexual. But culturally that's how they're seen. I don't find bondage gear sexual either but I undertand that's how it's seen in our culture. I'm sure fox mccloud would be a sex god to many furrys. It's personal taste, but that's not the issue.

There is a problem if females in computer games are only ever helpless princesses or sex objects. There are girls who relate to princess peach and girls who relate to lara croft. It's not a bad thing that these characters exsist. It's only an issue if they are the only type of female that the video game industy make. I don't think it's as much of an issue these days as it use to be. There's a good range of female characters in computer games now.

Racisum might be more of an issue. If black men in computer games are only ever shown as gangsters whilst white men in computer games could be not only gangsters, but plumbers, plucky adventurers, insecure cowards, meatheadish solders, cocky tough guys, egomainiacs, and the full spectrum of personalities, then you could acuse the computer game industry of racisum.

You think wrong. Just because the game is not well rated doesn't mean people don't like the perfect model.

Make a poll.

I don't know why anyone would find high heels sexual.

They alter the body's posture to make the breasts and buttocks more prominent.

I don't think it's sexist. It's covering her whole body. For me, it would be sexism if she's wearing a bikini like in the old days instead of the bodysuit. A good example is Starfire's outfit in The New 52 DC Comics. But what do I know? I'd rather prefer to see that Zero Suit in a guy than a girl, so my opinion might be a bit flawed.

3. The vast majority of foot fetishist (Which there's a hella lot of them) like high heels.

Guess that puts me in the minority. As a foot fetishist, high heels do nothing for me.

But seriously, I hate when people bring Sexism into everything... Like holy fuck people, give it a rest. She looks hawt, she always looked hawt, why don't you just bring up the Nes Samus where shes bearly wearing anything?

People don't bring Sexism into everything... just Sexist things mostly.

As for why nobody brings up the fact that if you beat the game quick enough Samus apears in a bathing suit in the original NES game... maybe because that was like 6 generations ago... and 6 generations ago nobody cared/half naked NES characters looked like naked Legos and one generation off from where most characters were just monocrom blocks anyway.

Also, yeah... having a woman appear in almost no clothes if you beat the game quick enough is sexist.  Would you argue that's not the case?  What's even thatarguement, that as long as sexist stuff has been happening for decades then it's fine?

That said, based on the actual characterization of Samus in the games, both that and the Heel's are terribly terribly out of place.

You are confusing sexist with sexy. Some products are designed for men while others are designed for women and some appeal to everybody.

Rather than railing against one currently existing character who has sexy characteristics why not support the female characters you do like and be vocal about it in a positive way.

The idea that its sexist to view women partially as objects of sex would make near every male on the face of the planet (and some women) a sexist. Are you saying that because sexual attraction towards female is a typically unique male desire the market should make no efforts to meet this desire?

It comes down to men and women having some actual differences within society with sexual desire being the most prominent amongst them and pretending that this is not the case and acknowledgement of this in the form of popular media (ie video games) is sexist is in my opinion a reductive way of thinking.

PS: I also agree the heels are out of place to which I would say they are stupid not sexist.

This is the Game of Thrones

Where you either win

or you DIE

Idk, rocket heels are horrible but sexist? Nah

So if Zero Suit Samus is fanbait for guys, where is the fanbait for girls? Why isn’t Captain Falcon wearing a thong or sporting a chest twice the size of his last model? Why doesn’t Mario have an absurd crotch buldge holding in his 10 inch slice of manhood? Why doesn’t Yoshi look like a Fist of the North Star character.

The real question here is, do girls actually like these things?

They would all be happy if this was Yoshi's new look?

''Zero Suit Samus’s New Design is Sexist...'' Yes, no shit, move on.

Seriously at first remarks (and of course subsequent site articles/posts) of this kind were annoying, now they're really starting to piss me off, this people need to find something better to do if just playing videogames for fun is not doing it for them.

It honestly just sounds like some butt hurt girly man who for some reason felt like he needed to single out a character that (for the most part) doesn't get the same treatment like some other female protagonists/antagonists (ahem....Ayane, Ivy, and Bayonetta, FFX-2 girls even). All because she is wearing a (non stylish-like) jump suit (with heels) which BTW looks more professional than the combat suits the DOA girls wear in games like Ninja Gaiden 2/3 RE.

Plus (from what I'm reading) he fails to differentiate between vulgarity and elegance. Sure one might point out her heels but that's the least of the problem if you're focusing on what might be construed as sexist. She might have (slightly) larger breasts, but they're no bigger than some of the other female character's breasts IMO. Not to mention they don't animate her breasts like in DOA, nor she doesn't flaunt her body like Bayonetta.

His comparison about men getting the same treatment is laughable (again can't differentiate vulgarity/elegance). Guys get the same treatment (he fails to see it) in the form of slim but ripped body (shirtless sometimes), chiseled face. Sometimes a fully ripped body. A man doesn't need a bulging crotch to look (appropriately) sexy; much like with a women, she doesn't need her camel toe sticking out. Men/Women don't need to wear thongs/scantly clad attire to look sexy.

Apparently battle-ready skin tight jumpsuits (that cover the whole body) with stilettos is so sexist to this knucklehead that it warrants a complaint. Unlike a fighter like Ivy with big, partially covered boobs. Plus she's been wearing that jumpsuit since Metroid Fusion. That was over 10 years ago nobody said anything then. Hell at least she's no worse than Wonder Pink if you know what I mean.

BTW what woman would want to see Captain Falcon wearing a thong in battle (let alone a man). Id rather have him wear the "bat nipples" instead (thanks Joel Schumacher).
