Forums - Gaming Discussion - Looking like VR is the new gimmick for this gen, will you accept it?

Oculus Rift, Sony's VR, Microsoft possibly releasing one in the future (patents), it really is looking like VR is finally going to be done again (let's hope it does better then Virtual Boy).

For me this is exciting I see lots of potential, I doubt this will be great at first but hey you gotta start somewhere. If this is done right and someone puts a lot of time and money into making a AAA game that would be amazing. The only problem is how would you advertise VR? You almost have to force a headset on someone so they can experience it.

So what are your guys thoughts on VR, should it be here to stay or not? why.

After all the hype especially the Oculus Crystal Cove prototype received I'm very interested in experiencing that for myself (well, I'm also a fan of stereoscopic 3D).

Yet I'm not sure how devs would be able to create VR compatible high fidelity graphics on gen 8 console hardware, so personally I think for this gen it's more of a PC thing.

Bring it, should be interesting if mass market accepts it or not.

NEVER!

Only for PCs cause just think of all the Porn! Or better yet, I bet someone will make a mod or a game where you can have virtual Sex with celebrities! Just think, virtual sex with Jennifer Lawrence And/Or Emma Watson! Could be the greatest invention since the beginning of man kind if done right!

It depends ... If the games are there to give a new unprecedented experience then I'll go for it.

I'll accept. They managed to market Kinect to stratospheric levels of hype. I think VR is a lot easier to sell.

unless it's a porno what is the point?

that all depends on if it's compelling, how good it really is. too early to tell.

Not if it's expensive and a pain to use. I'm poor and lazy.
