Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why the hell does the Internet have a vendetta against Nintendo?

padib said:

Most people enjoy bashing Nintendo because they don't respect their success, they don't respect their market decisions and most of all they hate their fans as being some form of sub-gamer that doesn't know games.

I can completely agree with the first two points, but definitely not the last.

Why you think I didn't use articles this old? Because IGN didn't became popular until 2010 or around that time. All IGN articles previous to 2010 have like 50 comments tops.

You must be under 18 years old!

i been going on ign since 2001 and it's been popular

This goes to what I said in this post: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5983193

Whether you used IGN that long ago doesn't mean a lot of people did, and definitely not as much as recent years. Also, wasn't IGN like 5 different websites until they united in just one?

Nintendo stocks jump 20%, no one cares, Nintendo announces high 3DS sales, no one cares, WiiU has highest selling month in USA, no one cares, Nintendo becomes bigger than all of Sony,no one cares, but when Nintendo slashes predictions, stocks fall, announce that they EXPECT a 250m loss even though their competitors lose a lot more and more frequently, it makes headlines.

what is the root of all this bias against Nintendo? Is there a particular reason like Nintendo not paying for positive press or is it just the cool thing to do?

because it gets them off....

just like when it rubs the lotion on its skin....

I know there will be people who don't give a crap and give reasons why to not believe in Nintendo and all that stuff but here is the core of it all. When you become the most successful at anything you do, you will inherit haters that drink Haterade like there's no tomorrow. People will hate you just for being successful and they vie to see the day you fail. Then there are those who are extreme fanboys and want the competing companies to fall to their graves like Pokemon on Pokemon Blue when you kill them. Nintendo has created a stream of success that we just act like has to always exist and it isn't fair to hold Nintendo to such a high standard given their status. Everyone fails. Sony failed, Microsoft failed, Apple failed, Nokia failed, Samsung failed, Thomas Edison... FAILED A THOUSAND TIMES!!! Quit acting like one failure will kill Nintendo, it is damn silly. Do you know how deep Nintendo's blood runs? We won't see them gone for Years guys! They are here to stay. They have a slew of games that don't even exist yet, the Wii U might not be pulling the Wii's magic numbers but I'm okay with that. Nintendo might not be, yes I understand that it hurts taking a loss for the 3rd time in a row but that barely puts a dent in Nintendo's bag of gold coins. You fail, you succeed and if you're Nintendo you try and prove others dead wrong, that's all.

This strikes me as very confusing. All the things you said no one cared about were not ignored; they were all discussed to an extent here and elsewhere, but it's not like they were surprising/significant.

So, the question I have to ask you is...what bias?

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

You're totally dishonest here.

Closing a studio or selling US headquarter means nothing ( especially when you buy a bigger one in the same year -_- ) compared to such loss for nintendo.

It's normal to be more shocked by the Titan fall, same thing happened to Sony after PS2 generation, becoming the loser of the new generation when you were the king of last generation is currently something people want to talk about.

Sony posts $312 Million Loss, Playstation Stagnant: 1126 comments

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/02/sony-posts-312-million-loss-playstation-stagnant

I can go on, but in any case, why is selling a building or closing a studio not as impotant as not making forecasts? I also added the 'junk' status above.

You should read sometimes before answer . It's obvious than selling a studio is not a big deal when you buy bigger one, same for building -_- , when i sell my house to get enough money to buy a bigger house, i'm in more trouble ? I dont think so.

again, you should read, the most important point is : It's normal to be more shocked by the Titan fall, same thing happened to Sony after PS2 generation, becoming the loser of the new generation when you were the king of last generation is currently something people want to talk about.

th thing i find funny is that people are getting behind this. Its outstanding how many people are thinkking this is in line with reality

IMO the "nintendo's hate" exists because VG's sites are full of Core/15-30 years old/male gamers that are not the nintendo's target since ever! They don't like the fact that nintendo focused on kids and old non-gamer people since Wii,always making cartoonish, "PG free" games. They want Eternal Darkness,Mature Designed Zelda,F-Zero,Metroid and new IPs that follow this trend, but nintendo is doing the opposite.

But now, we need to stop with this persecution complex, there is no " vendetta against nintendo", at the opposite, people are very kind to nintendo and Wii U compared to how they are/were to Sony at the beginning of the generation and Vita...

Nintendo hardcore fanbase looks like
