Wow, Luigi's Mansion 2 might actually reach over a million units sold.

In the Japanese Nintendo Direct Iwata confirmed that it already sold over 1 million.

Looks like the Wii U is finally hitting its stride. With numbers like these, the platform may have a real chance at relevance in the Japanese market; no small feat for a console there. And 3D World might be one of the top 20 or so best-selling games of the year, making it, if not what many hoped for, at least a success.

As for the 3DS, it's nice seeing so many hardware and software sales. I was personally expecting better from Puzzles & Dragons Z, but it should still easily outsell any non-3DS game this year, and be the third best-selling non-Nintendo game of the year.

The PlayStation 3 is showing its age, the Vita its lack of support, and Vita TV appears to be almost a flop. I don't expect it to come West unless it picks up. I guess the moral of the story is that Japan is too small to support three consoles, even if one of them is a handheld.

Love and tolerate.

Happy with these sales. C'mon WiiU!, do the same in America and Europe!

what the hell is Puzle and Dragons.
3DS is a Beast
Wii U its caching the 3Ds way

3DS is underperforming and no there's no denying it. It seems that Nintendo sacrificed 3DS sales with Wii U :P
No, but seriously, it's not great.

Great sales for Wii U and 3DS.

For those curious about how Wii U does in comparison to GC, it`s actually doing better than GC.

GC did (in the same week): 67.500 MC
Wii U did: 74.903 MC/ 72.982 FM

Only place where WiiU is really doing good at the moment.
Started with the WiiU Party bundle I think.

Using those figures it could top out at 850k for the year which is down just under 25%

850k? It did 24k this week... all sales will be up in Japan in the next three weeks...

Week Dec 16 - Dec 22
Week Dec 23 - Dec 29
Week Dec 30 - Jan 4 (I don't know for sure if the Week 52 is that or the previous)

850k is the minimum if PS3 have no increase in sales in the next weeks.

Edit - I did used the LTD sales in previous comments... I was wrong... the drop is over 20%.

Interesting. Has Nintendo finally dropped the price of the WiiU on Japan ? After all, the bundles are out for quite some time there.

In case people here don´t know.... the WiiU price drop was taken only on Europe and the Americas until now.

Wow... 3DS simply dominating the software charts. Massive drop for Lightning Returns....
