Forums - Sony Discussion - Why the PS Vita is not selling well?

The best selling psp and vita game is a hardcore game because Psp and Vita are handheld for hardcore gamers and that's why is promoted like that, most of people buy a console because of games not brand it dosn't metter if Psvita is a playstation if it dosn't have big game nobody will buy it.
Like i said Nintendo console are not like Sony consoles if casuals buy Nintendo consoles it dosn't means they will buy sony console even if sony console have casuals games on it.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

And again this is why I think it was mistake made by Sony for the Vita. In my opinion handheld and hardcore gamers don't go together. And I am sure you read the numbers in my earlier post and the big difference between Nintendo Handlheld vs Nintendo Console. Even Gran Turismo only sold 3 Millions out of 80 millions PSP. And my point was that while those game on the Vita looks nice, I see myself playing them on the PS3.

Now I would like to hear why you think Vita is not selling well, or if you think it is actually selling well??

Because it has no gaems.

Vita is a decent portable console, but it needs a game that can sell a ton of units ala Animal Crossing or Pokemon.

3 millions is better then any handheld suited game on psp that proof only hardcore game are interested on psvita and psp.Not every one think like you those 80 millions person who buy psp don't agree with you.

Psvita dosn't sold well because a lot of games who help psp to sold 80 millions are not on Vita,Vita don't have an original gta, final fantasy, metal gear,Yakuza solid, kingdoms heart, monster hunter etc it dosn't even share multiplatform games with ps3 depite the fact it is easy  to port ps3 game on vita.vita had only late port of ps3 games.

This is not the difference between hardcore and casual games. The 3DS has a even bigger library of blockbuster hardcore games AND blockbuster casual games. And on top of that a lot of hardcore&casual niche games. Or to say it with a few words: The 3DS has many many good games.

The Vita has only a few good games and the gap between the few good Vita games and the large amount of good 3DS games gets wider every month

You know, if you look at games with a meta of 75%+ there's really very little difference between the 3DS and Vita lineups.

If we're talking exclusives, yes the 3DS has many many games. But if we're talking about games in general, it's a tie at best for the 3DS. There are a lot of games on Vita that simply aren't possible on 3DS.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Well, as a Vita owner I have to be honest and say that smartphone gaming appeals to me more. I still keep my Vita around for the free PS+ games, but I just think the android store has a better games lineup for me personally, especially for RPG's. Between the Chaos Rings saga and the Zenonia series I'm very happy, and it means I don't have to bring around a second portable device when I visit my parents. I just think times have changed and for the demographic that owns smartphones a dedicated portable gaming platform makes less and less sense. Last gen all my friends had PSPs, but this gen I'm the only one with a Vita and I only really got that because of PS+ Even with PS+ I'm sort of considering selling it though :S

None of the games appeal to me I had a Vita for a while but only had one game because they all looked garbage.
I traded it in for 3DS XL I loved the way Vita looks though and how awesome the hardware is.
