I really hate to be a killjoy but it's just one week. A week with the holiday boost and a new Dragon Quest. I would hope the hardware sales go up because of that.

Never said it will turn things around (i mean selling 50mil+ lifetime) but its wayyy to early calling it a failure, i seen ps3/3DS turn things around and look where they are at! Calling it a failure is when its dead which 48k is clearly not (holiday but still)

what turn around, 3DS cant even surpass the DS sales. The older bros DS, DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL probably look down in shame of their little bros 3DS (so ugly hemakes young children blind), 3DS XL (the overweight kid) and 2DS (still wearing diapers)
