Forums - Sony Discussion - Yoshida on PS3 Support: "F*!K Vita", “All of Our Large Teams Will Move on to PS4

Is this true? Sounds a bit too bluntly dismissing PS3 and Vita for the next generation. It would be great if both Sony amd MS suported their respective console for the first year or two in the next generation and meanwhile building up the library for X1 and PS4.

Well did the PSP even have a large team working on a game for it? You won't really need a large team to make handheld games. Tearaway for example looks stunning and it's made by a small team at Mm.

The team that made Mario Kart 7 was the same team making the console version. The NSMB team went on to make the Wii game. Etc.

Maybe EAD's subdivisions aren't "large" teams, but I still think this is not a good sign for the Vita.

No, it need games. And Sony isnt doing this. No large or small studio is. I mean, this xmas we have Tearaway and Killzone Mercenary(wich had super low marketing, and is selling very bad compared to any other Killzone)

That is just a shame.

there are just some games that cant be made without a large team. big open world games like skyrim or GTA need big teams. and sony is saying they wont make that on the PS Vita even though they touted the "console experience on the go" with the Vita once it was announced and launched. if sony wants to make these small games then the PSV should have been a weaker handheld that doesnt cost 200$ after 2 years on the market.

I really like this direction. All of Sony's big in house devs should be focused on PS4, and making the best games possible. I love Vita and it will be great for second screen but, smart phones are the place to game on the go.

Sony really needs to make a PS Phone for real. The Xperia Play was a joke. All I am asking for is a Vita Phone. Hell I don't even need android. Build PS4 and PSN into a successful ecosystem, and it can ride right with iOS, android, and Windows.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

KBG29 on PSN&XBL

I think your misinterpreting this. All he said was that the larger teams were moving to the ps4. That doesn't mean that game development for ps3/vita will completely stop and all current projects will be cancelled. Also, he didn't mention how large the teams are. For example, the "larger teams" could have 600 people while the "smaller teams" could have 459 people. Did you ever think that ps4 AAA games may require MORE people to work on them and handheld games won't require as many resources. Your making this seem worse than it actually could be.
